S&T with 6ers for Wright and a 2015 2nd round, with Wright getting the MLE. Would that work?

If Wright is a free agent would this actually work?

That would kill the whole point of trading Lopez.

Remember, we HAVE to clear 5.5 million in cap space between now and the 10th. Taking back salary for Lopez kills the whole point of trading him

You can take back a little if you plan to trade Vasquez, but not much. No more than 2 to 2.5 million

It's a deal not suited for them, but all the same.

    I don't buy it.
Assuming the report of Demps' structuring the deal to maximize Sac's difficulty in retaining is correct, they could have asked him if he'd be willing to just sign their offer. He and his agent then reply, "you want us to do that, hike up your offer and it's done." Sac declines to add money to the deal, Evans just needs to sign our offer sheet; he doesn't need to cave to them, and it sounds like he might get paid more up front in our deal.

    I wouldn't take the risk.
The Kings will sign him IMO.
As noted, Tyreke's agent is the same as Anthony Davis' and others. You can bet that the Pels aren't yanking the offer from Tyreke. Not that they would, it's bad business practice. But it's Reke or the bargain bin.

I think the two things that are in the deal that make it bad for Kings are:

    1.) Trade Kicker
    2.) 4th year player option

Wish there was a way to get Tyreke, keep Lopez, n move EG for a SF. Know not possible but would be nice. Imagine jrue, tyreke, decent SF, Davis, Lopez. Bench with GV and RA playing heavy minutes. I know GV will prob be traded but with his low salary n if he is not a starter would be nice to keep.
This team aint wining nothing with this coach, we can make all the excuses we want. Unfortunately excuses don't win games.

I think it's probably just a trade kicker that is added to the contract. I think Sacramento can offer Evans more than we can if they wanted to.

Would this trade work if we did a S&T for Evans and sent back Vasquez? Gravy's contract is slightly more than MLE right? Tis might be the best possible outcome for us and most likely wont happen.

    Under 2.2mil

Trade GV for Evans and you still need to clear about 3 mil. Could trade Smith or Rivers and then dump all the little guys like Roberts, Thomas, Miller, etc. and get there.

Only way you keep Lopez. Gotta lose Lopez OR GV, and either Smith or Rivers. I choose Lopez personally

Why would Evans agree to that? It takes a lot of money out of his pocket in the event of a future trade.

Why are we assuming Benson won't pay a little luxury tax?

  16. #2116
It's not about the Luxury tax it's about the CAP

If that's the case Lopez has to go, I would be so upset if Rivers is gone

Well can't you go over the cap if you pay three times every million you are over?

Because the trade kicker was added on our part to prevent the Kings from matching.

Why is it so prohibitive for Sac to match? I guess b/c Demps assumes if they do, it would be with the idea of dealing him down the road (once Ben McLemore matures?)

That's the idea. It essentially makes him extremely hard to trade if he doesn't live up to his contract ala Gordon.

I don't think it's that easy, other wise Mark Cuban would have every good player and the other more wealthier owners would do the same. It would be an arms race, who's pockets are the deepest.

I'm no expert but I'd rather lose GV / Smith n those guys than Lopez. At under 6 mil a year, he is a bargain. After get rid of EG you have plenty of money to fill out roster with low cost guys. Just my opinion, I'm excited to possibly see jrue n tyreke starting on team.

Ok, but it is still big money in Evans pocket if he were to get traded. Why would he allow it to be removed from his potential future income. He is not trying to make it more difficult for the Kings to match. He is just trying to get the most $$$, regardless of who pays it.

  25. #2125
Lopez over Smith all pass, Smith is better in most area's and gets paid about the same.
