Sources close to Evans said he is waiting to see if the Kings will make an offer that's bigger than the Pelicans offer after ending their pursuit of Andre Iguodala.

That's likely all it would take for Evans to decline New Orleans' offer.

-I'd be really skittish if there is no sign and trade here. He's obviously willing to make the jump, but if he was holding out for more, and not equal, money, then there's no reason for the Kings to deal with him aside from matching. "I'll sign with you, but you've gotta do better than they do." "Nah, just sign their deal, we'll take paying you less over paying you more."

Lol, ignorance on Sheridan's part. No talent in place here or anything.

Let everyone clown the name all they want. It won't matter if we win. Even better if we win a Championship and they have to say, "the New Orleans Pelicans are the national Champions." Let them eat on that crow. . .er. Pelican.

They are probably voting the "match it" since they don't want to do a S&T with some player named Grieves Vasquez.

It seems all of the reports of him wanting Sac to match our offer are from the sacramento media. Am i right?

Same guy who wrote an article on amnestying Kobe.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Doesn't make any sense. The Kings have no obligations to sweeten the pot for Evans. Unless we pull our deal, if they want him they just need to match. Unless he signs a qualifying, but no one does that. Kings would have to be incompetent to offer a higher deal. THEY have the edge in retaining him no matter what. It's a deal not suited for them, but all the same.

    I don't buy it.

RT @itsjonsantiago: One other interesting note re: Evans &; #SacKings: I'm told Coach Michael Malone wants very much to have Tyreke in Sacramento next season.

Well it don't matter if he wants Evans. What matters is that if management is willing to pay him!

Only move they can make make the same offer to him. Why should they pay a cent more than we are?

It's no different than when we first made the offer. Kings have the final say, unfortunately. Either they match or they don't. Only other thing at play is are they getting Vasquez or Lopez in the deal.

If the coach says I don't want him or I can win without him, my guess is management would take that under advisement . Same as if he said I need him. Coach is just one small piece, no one said the coach was paying out his own pocket .
This team aint wining nothing with this coach, we can make all the excuses we want. Unfortunately excuses don't win games.

If Sacramento was going to make a move, I feel like they would've already.

If they did offer one cent more, that would show the continued ineptitude of that organization. That on top of the Iggy offer/retraction would surely look bad for the Kings.
