I would think they have been willed out. She hates them and they hate her.

    No, that's already been settled.

Is she still paying SVG or has that been settled?

That takes some... Balls to really demand that.

If we want him, why not just give him an offer sheet? The bulls don’t have the $ to match, do they?

I get you can’t use the TPE in that case, but don’t we have the cap room? Not sure where we’re at.

No way the bulls match a decent offer. If they give up a 1st round pick, Griffin is an idiot. I can’t believe they didn’t just trade Markkanen and a 2nd for Ball straight up if they wanted Markkanen.

Not only does asking for the the FRP take a lot of gall, but also the implication that we'd be interested in paying Lauri the contract ''he seeks'' with the mention of the $17m we have ''to take the free agent in'' is intensely worrying.

I think even the people who are optimistic about Lauri's potential and thing he fits really well would be sceptical of paying him anywhere near $17m a year.

He has skills... just can't stay healthy. Not the best defender but he tries every now and then.

Yeah... If we was getting Lauri... I was hoping it was some way to get him & Buddy with our cap space and trade exception. Not a fan, but there is a back up roster spot for Lauri. However, it is not worth overpaying for just only Lauri.

Also, why not just do this at the trade deadline last year b/c isn't this what they were offering for Lauri and the pick wasn't included. Griff would be an idiot if he gives up another pick esp for Lauri b/c he's not worth that. Good player but not great (yet).

    Be smart about it Griff.

Being an RFA, I'm speculating that Lauri wasn't interested in coming to a place with an All-Star SF, PF, and C that has flirted with All-Star status multiple times. I bet he was looking for a place to be a starter but going dry in free agency has changed his mind.
BI, Zion, and CJ had a net rating of +3 when on the court together. BI and Zion had a +13.4, BI and CJ had a +13.2, Zion and CJ was just +5.4.

BI and Zion worked. BI and CJ worked. It was CJ and Zion and all three together that didn't work.

Griff isn’t giving up a first. People need to relax regarding that.

Yeah... It's just for a back PF. Just give the offer sheet and if it gets match. Well, lol at Chicago

We could go big with starters:

    Jonas
    Lauri
    Zion
    Ingram
    NAW

Could we get Buddy and offer Lauri 2 yr 20 million?

That would be an interesting lineup. Probably have to run zone on defense.

Genuine curiousity - but why do most of you guys want to keep adding average to slightly above average players who will just steal playing time from the young guys? Like, its already going to be hard to get Naji, Murphy, Didi, and Jones minutes - and stuff like that will make it impossible. Not to mention take away a few from Kira and NAW too.

Lets just play the young dudes and if they are awesome, we happily give up that pick to Charlotte. If not, we keep it and have learned about who our young guys are. Isnt that the FAR better path?

Didn’t you just this morning advocate paying Hart 2/25? Isn’t that the very thing you’re speaking against here? I don’t get it.

    Off season finally making sense,
We thought the team was gonna make "a big offer for Lowry" ,
But what reporters misunderstood was the Pels were actually preparing "a big offer for Lauri".
    Surprise!
It's that the Hornets unashamedly quit so quickly in Game 4 after fans in New Orleans showed up this season with greater regularity than the team could have ever dreamed, shaming misinformed know-it-alls like me who kept telling you that local residents couldn't possibly invest their time and money into something as trivial as rooting for the local basketball team while still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. - Mark Stien ESPN

Meh. We’ll see how things progress when the season starts I guess. We should be significantly better than last year, but that isn’t saying too much.

Are we winning now or tanking? It doesn’t look like we are tanking, so playing Naji, Didi, and Jones significant minutes won’t win games. It would be nice to have depth and a decent bench. Young guys will eventually get minutes due to injury. Satoransky and Temple won’t be hard to unseat if these young guys are any good.
