You have to admit though that NO isn't a basketball city. When I still lived in NO I would visit Cooter Brown's quite often. There are a lot of TV sets there and once I wanted to watch a Hornets game which of course wasnt on any of the TV sets. I keep on hedging with the "don't know what Dell might be doing in the background" line, because it's true, but anybody not frustrated by Dell looking a lot like Dell for probably his final time just can't get frustrated. There are only a limited number of NBA caliber players out there, its not an infinite pool. And the ones Dell has already accumulated kinda suck. You just have to hope, blindly hope given his career long incompetence, that he's masterminding something significant in the background. The far distant background apparently where nobody ever sees or hears a peep.
If he's not, then when he's fired Pels fans should give him a healthy raspberry.
To be fair, most of his moves come out of nowhere. So while he's more than earned a healthy skepticism, a lack of rumors definitely doesn't equate to a lack of activity by this front office.

It's a basketball city depending on where you are. In my neighborhood everybody followed the NBA religiously when nola was nowhere near having a team.
The city has produced a few ballers too.
There is almost no way they aren't going into the tax next year when Cousins signs.
I think this is part of the reason we are trying so hard this year to not do it unless we have to.
42' article was a really good read on how it's not even the luxury tax itself but the hard cap that is such a problem for us.

Last I knew (haven't watched him since OKC), he was a very quick, ball-dominant guard with poor shooting but didn't seem to shoot a lot. Had a reputation as having a junkyard dog mentality and decent to good defense. Since then I know he's been seen as a bit of a headcase. Not sure what's changed or what's warranted so I am just looking at numbers. I've always been a huge fan of Jrue off the ball and having a guard that can collapse the defense. For a team with AD and Boogs, I think ideally you have a guy who can attack off the dribble and break that first layer of defense, and two shooters to kick out to who can move the ball. As many of them that are plus defenders, the better. Reggie could be that guy assuming he still has that quickness.
Still seems risky. I'd assume this move meant the price on Lin, and Bledsoe are too high, which is unfortunate.

I agree 1000% but the fans came out in big numbers when we were good. The problem is we were only good for a couple years, so hose years get lost.
This city was electric when we made that run a while back...too far back. That Dallas series, the SKC was rocking. If I recall correctly, Jazzfest, the Zurich Classic AND a home playoff game took place on one of those Saturday nights. It was crazy wild downtown...in a good way. Put a competitive team on the court and watch. I can't wait for that to return.
Wtf? I am stating that every single transaction that he clamored over like he knew has never come to fruition. I remember back to the Elton Brand offer that he said we put in for like 8.2 million and he went to another team for like 1.6 million. He has ALWAYS been WRONG! If you have never been correct but claim to be an insider then sir I will believe NONE of what you spew.
PS: I don't ever claim to know insider info at all because I am very proudly a causal fan. I come on this board for insight from you guys. I'm just a die hard new Orleans fan period.

I had no problem entertaining his bull either but the problem for me came in when he talked down to others. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion but when you act like yours is almighty and you are the GOD of nba knowledge but everyone else is sheep, them in my eyes I lose all respect for you plus I will bring up the fact that you have never been correct. That's why I can say for a FACT that he doesn't know squat about this organization. Only a fool would think otherwise.
