Do you think trades are finalized in 5 minutes? Those just could be the 2 main pieces involved. There could be other smaller but important details that could be done. The deal straight up would not work anyways.

Still but with the too good to be true part....There may be others involed in the deal that make it not so too good to be true.
Should be an exciting 2 weeks to be a fan to say the least.

This board is usually ok.
I for one think he doesn't know a thing. He thinks he does, but this rumor is 100% false. Just my opinion.
But I'm not crucifying him. I thank him for telling us what he thinks he knows. At least we have something to talk about.

Personally I don't care if MVP's info is incorrect. He shared his info and I appreciate that. I just don't like when/if the same people say they have inside info and none of it is ever true. I completely understand how complex these things can get and know that there are hundreds of factors that can change anything, but if you have a legit soure or inside info.....eventually you have to be correct at least every now and then.

Let me reiterate for those who it's not clear to...
A guy who works for the Pelicans on the BBall side of the operation, not some ticket rep or marketing person, flat out said that Minnesota has offered Kevin Martin for Eric Gordon.
Now when this offer happened... I don't know. What Dell's response was... I don't know.
What I do know, is in the context of where we were and what we were talking about (the Knick/Mavs trade) there was no reason at all for this person to volunteer that information and lie about it.
What I'm 10000% right about regardless of whether this deal gets done, is that a Pelicans employee who talks to our coaches and players daily said that deal was offered by Minnesota.
So... That's that.
And like I said before, I don't too much care about the reaction of the board if this doesn't happen. I'm a grown man! The internet isn't real!
The pelicans will very likely not be able to trade Gordon. GMs in this league know enough about Gordon that they won't touch him. Maybe if his contract was 5mil a year he'd be considered.

Geez. If Minny is the one offering maybe Gordon has more value than we think. Maybe ATL and Minny can get in a bidding war for him!
After Reke's trade the other day I am with MM on how posters respond when rumors don't materialize. We have a lot of petty people here. A lot of people will take the op across the coals for this if it doesn't go through, but that's to be expected.
I hope it's true and we can get rid of Gordon for Brewer and Martin, but if it doesn't happen so be it.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.
They get a younger player with more potential on a shorter deal who's a better defender for 2 player they don't want. Minny Fans hate martin and by year 3 they would be in full rebuild and don't want him on the books. If they choose to keep Love, Gordon could help them more than Martin. Gordon will also be playing for a new contract while Martin will just be riding his out till he retires.

The PELS will be a very good team this year with or without EG. If we add Tucker we will be a playoff team.

That was my BIGGEST takeaway from what I heard. Gordon has value.
Just to clarify once again, I didn't hear that this deal was getting done. I heard Minnesota made the offer. And what that tells me more than anything is that Dell has options for trading Gordon. Because if Dell didn't have other options, and Minnesota was the only team that saw value in Gordon, I think Dell would recognize that and we'd be talking right now about how Dell traded Gordon to Minnesota last week.

Gordon has real injury concerns, an attitude problem, and is paid like he's a superstar but has never played all star and his numbers are declining. He's a step slower. No GM is thinking they would love to add that to their team!!!!

I tend to believe along those lines as well. If Minny calls up and makes that offer Dell better have a good gauge on whether he should take it or not. Gives me a slight hope.
Now we just have to wait and see. My assumption is something needs to break before FA starts because we want to use our MLE and Bi-Annual.
