"I go so hard, I go so mean... I'm so NEW ORLEANS" - Lil' Wayne"We not stopping at no stores man ! We staying on the gas !" - Tyreke Evans
Instead of using all our remaining cap space on tyreke, maybe we should look to pick up someone like omri casspi at the 3 and byron mulleins. Omri Casspi and Mullens could both come in and start right away. We could even throw 10 mil at kirilenko, his best years are still ahead of him and he would bring a veteran presence to the squad.
IMO, either way we would be a playoff team
How do you pay three guards, 8 figures each. Oh we'll, that's the front office job.
Good to hear Gordon is gonna stay put. Would be a dumb move to trade him.
Tyreke is a guy who can get his own shot when the play breaks down. That is INVALUABLE in the playoffs!
In the NBA, 4 quarters doesn't equal a dollar. Evans has All Star potential, so that's what you go with. If you have a chance, you always go for the All Star, even if it means overpaying a little.
If this holds true i'd expect to see one of Gordon or Greivis traded (preferably Gordon) hopefully for some help on the wing, and not only that but a wing who can shoot lol to me this seems the most realistic scenario because how the current roster + Reke is looking its a complete mismash but knowing Dell theres got to be method to this madness
So what people are saying is... the FO not only convinced him to come off the bench, but to also play the position that he said he wouldn't play too?
I just got the espn update thing on my phone that said we offered him 4 years 44 million deal it doesent say if he accepted though.
I'm with you on this aspect. I am one to think the positions are a little outdated now as Iggy isn't deadset as a 3 as most people think.
So I don't see Reke brought in here to exclusively plug our starting hole at the 3, but he'll just receive a ton of minutes out on the wing regardless of Gordon being in the game or not. Look at what San Antonio did w/ Manu this season. Green started at the 2 and then Manu was brought in and the two of them played together along w/ Parker or Neal. Same concept here. He's not a traditional "3" so he's not being brought in to play the "3" so to speak.
But for us paying him 10million plus incentives, he's going to come in here and do whatever Monty asks him to do b/c he won't be getting that kind of money in SAC to play backup behind the logjam of Thornton, McLemore, Salmons, etc... here his only real threat to minutes is Gordon & they can play alongside one another.
Kings are due to meet with Evans at 5 p.m.

I think if things don't go well with the Kings tonight, then Evans will agree to our deal. At least, that's the word floating around twitter:
Also sounds like if Evans doesn't like what he hears from the Kings this evening, he could agree to offer sheet. Can't be signed until 7/10

Curious as to how people with the negative outlook ever think we are going to win. You keep drafting and waiting on talent to develop while it also walks out the door. The OKC model doesn't happen that much, you can't just draft or just do FA'y. You have to draft, make some good deals and sometimes overpay. You take chances to WIN. The Heat did it and succeeded. The Lakers did and failed. But you won't hit it if you never swing.
We have talent now that we did not have last year, let's see what they can do. We are trying to win games, not have the leagues smartest and most balanced payroll. Get the players here, period. Demps is doing that.
I also love that the people who {edited-language} about these moves are the same ones who cry when we suck. This team is very promising. Guys really want to save money for who??? Lebron isn't coming here. Dwight isn't coming here. This is our only shot to win, get over it.
"Save money, save money, be smart so we can make a move..." FOR WHAT? Sorry but when you're a NO Pelicans fan this is your move. A mix of good drafting and overpaying guys is our shot. Otherwise we are the Clippers from before CP3, always waiting on talent to evolve and then it leaves as it comes. And people like to say SA or OCK, those teams hit with once in a generation players, it's luck. Hopefully we have that with AD, but I don't get how anyone can be upset by this move.
Is it a lot for Evans, yes. Is it a lot for Evans to come to NO, no.

Evans puts us in the playoffs, which makes the Philly trade look that much better. Plus, we have the MLE, which we can sign another SF or a big with. Demps is a sly dog!
Nice callI actually didn't know that about Redick. I'd still take Evans in that department since I think I can safely assume he gets a lot more volume there, but that's a good point on Redick's behalf.
64% at the rim is pretty elite, though. Tony Parker's one of the best in the league and he's about at 67. Russell Westbrook is about 59-60 IIRC.
we do not have the mid level exception
we have the room exception (pending all the moves under the cap)
Wtf? Redick? What are you talking about? Who wants Redick?
