Either the offer is for $40 mil and I'm accepting. $35 mil and I'm doing cartwheels. Or $48 mil and I'm going to turn into a diabolical mad scientist with plans of turning Saturns moons into ballistic planetary missiles to destroy Neptune.

No, that isn't oddly specific of me to say unprovoked. Shut up.

You can include Gordon, though he may be the one needing ankle tape.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

He shot 11.8 times a game last year and posted career high efficiency. He's a poor shooter from 3 but shot a career high there too (33%). He played off the ball last season a lot more often with Aaron Brooks and Isaiah Thomas there and actually improved his #'s. He rebounds better than Gordon and has the potential to be a much better defender. Most of all, he'll come a little cheaper and he's healthy.

Will Tyreke be able to wear #13? Charlotte retired it for Bobby Phills after he passed away. Think the Pelicans will keep it retired?

Do you guys think if Evans signs the deal and Kings don't match that Dell already has a suitor for EG? I don't see them both here, don't buy the backup plan.

  7. #907
If it's 40 mil for 4 years I can live with that!

  8. #908
Does this mean we won't go after Iggy?

Evans is putting up insane numbers without a reliable 3 point shot. The guy gets to the line at will and his 3 point shot has been steadily improving due to his shot selection. He's a reliable 3 point shot away from putting up monster numbers.

People forget that Westbrook wasn't a reliable 3 point shooter prior to this season. But now it's a weapon in his arsenal. I actually think Evans can get back to that 20-5-5 season if he's allowed to play his game.

THIS, this guy is a beast and never had talent around him, playing next to jrue should do wonders

That's the Hornets franchise... we're starting out fresh. give Reke 13 if he wants it.

Do you trust Demps and Monty? They disagree with you, and that's who I trust - nothing against you. I'm not trying to be a prick here. I'm just putting things in perspective here.

Its is funny people is fussing about the price... people were parsing like he was an all-star but now that he is getting paid an all-star price people are getting nervous... I mean I'm starting to see people stating that Evans isn't even that good...

    Gordon : Max contract
    Jrue : 10M/year
    Evans : 11M/year

In that case, those 3 players should split the 1 and 2 positions for 48 min to be cost effective.
It can't happend since we still have Grevis, Rivers and we draft a PG.

Then Gordon didn't like when we draft Rivers, what will he think if we sign Evans ?
I trully hope there is trade ready for Gordon if we get Evans...

Doug Mouton ?@DMoutonWWL 5m Sean Deveney of the Sporting News @SeanDeveney says he believes the Pelicans offer to Tyreke Evans is a straight free agent deal (more)

Doug Mouton ?@DMoutonWWL 5m ..and not a sign and trade. The Sporting News' @SeanDeveney 's take on the deal, will Sacramento match, coming up on Eyewitness News at 5pm

Okay. Forums aren't made for opinions, I guess...

Evans is playing the SF for us. They can all 3 play together. There are plenty of minutes to go around.

With the $44 million deal would they be trying to pull off a sign and trade? or what?

Seems like a lot of money for Evans. I won't sit here and complain though because the Pelicans are making moves. That's something that can't be said for years in the past.

That's what i would imagine also.

Why would the official site say we have signed player X to a offer sheet? Isn't that what a official site does, announce signings?

I got a simple solution to this...

Trade Rivers AND Vasquez. I hate to see Greivis go, but his value is at an all time high.

We'd be much better off w/ our 3 highest paid guys running the two guard spots and then we'd have some cash to throw to either Aminu, Webster, or Budinger to fill the minutes at the 3 w/ Miller and Evans.

Plus, we still have Roberts who can play some minutes at PG and we just got a VERY cheap PG in Pierre who could be a nice addition.

If Rivers has ANY value, and you want to keep Gordon... then move him. You just got your PG of the future in THIS draft.

Don't be like that. No need to get all defensive. I'm just saying that you don't like Evans, but do you think you know more about basketball than Demps and Monty? You can say you don't like him, but it's happening whether you like it or not, so you might as well look on the bright side. And the bring side is that Monty and Dell made this call, and you trust their basketball acumen, right? That's all I'm saying man.
