I feel pretty confident that something went down....I also think that unless there is trade involvement, we will just have to bide our time until the FA thingy runs its course....

If we get Evans, I think thats a clear indication that we are looking to trade Gordon. I wouldn't mind it as long as Evans plays within the system. He's not as good as a defender as Gordon. but he will be cheaper than Gordon and we might just get the same output.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Am I too late to exclamate? Anyways.... If we manage to keep gordon and sign tyreke, we will have the most interesting lineup in the league. I would like to see tyreke improve his shot, but it has gotten better from recent years.

Sorry guys, I meant about Iggy today. Not Evans. Should've clarified.

As much as I'd love to S&T for Reke using Vasquez (best case scenario), I'd have to think it will be for Gordon.

Which frees MORE money up for Iggy. Oh man, what an offseason:

    Jrue/Jackson
    Reke/Rivers
    Iggy/Miller
    Davis/Anderson
    Lopez/Smith
    Wherehappens.

What does that accomplish though? We have the cap room to sign him outright. Why trade GV?

The only thing about that line up is a lack of 3pt shooting in the starting line up. Too many ball dominant players.

    Because he is surplus...

I don't think we have the cap to sign Tyreke outright actually.

Because then you can trade Gordon for another asset instead of using him for the Reke deal?

Because he's a restricted FA. Incentive for them to not match...

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Any chance that we give him an offer that Sac will not match, instead of sign and trade?

Also, why would they want Vasquez?

A lot of people saying Evans wouldn't fit unless we get rid of Gordon. Here is how I look at it if we got Evans. Look at the roster the Spurs just took Miami to 7 games in the finals (which they should have won in game 6) I think that is similar to how we would look but younger.

    Holiday - Parker

    Gordon - Green

    Evans - Leonard

    Anderson - Diaw

    Davis - Duncan

Holiday and parker can both get to the rim as PG's which creates shots for others. Holiday is a better defender than parker but not as good as parker overall.
Gordon would be like our danny green. I see similar games here. If gordon can stay healthy he is better than green overall.
Evans has a similar build and all-around game like Leonard. His defense would have to improve but he has the body/skillset to produce in all stat categories like Leondard does for San Antonio.
Anderson is a deadly shooter but can also post, rebound, pass, etc. Similar to Diaw but a much better shooter.
Davis is predicted to be very similar to Duncan but it's just a matter of when/if he will reach that potential.

The point is that you want a team that works together as a UNIT not the best at individual positions. Positions don't matter. Skillsets do. If we sign Tyreke and plug him in as a do it all "3" then I think he fits nicely if Monty can get him to improve on defense. What makes the Spurs so good is how well they work as a team. Not because Danny Green is awesome. Danny Green is good because of how their team is built and how he gets open shots due to Parker, duncan, etc. I could see our team looking very similar to the Spurs with that lineup but younger and dependent on Davis's improvement and some other factors.

I really would not like to do what Houston did. Next season they are paying Lin and Asik a combined 30 million

    Good post.

We do not have the money to sign Tyreke outright. Not unless we cut Lopez.

Including Vasquez in a S&T helps us get to a bigger offer. Biggest offer we could put on table w/o trading Vasquez or cutting Lopez would be 4 years/25 million

    Good post!

Not saying I agree 100% but It could work. Gordon really is the wildcard at this point.

I'm just sitting back patiently waiting for this signing to be announce or agreed to in principle. I'd go ape sheet.

Thx for clearing that up MM.

I just don't know why Sac would want Vasquez.

It's similar to the Ryno deal with Orlando. If the Kings have no intention on matching offers, they would prefer a deal where they get something useful in return.
