do we know why gordon didn't play in the 4th? guy was money in the 3rd
Oh how i wish everyone who's so judgemental's errors at work would be publically displayed. Tyreke seemed to understand, why can't our fans?
Quote:
He’s trying to figure me out still,” Evans said of his head coach before the game. “Most of the guys that came here are pretty much new [to the team] so he’s trying to fit everybody in and put me in the best position he can.” SheridanHoops
What is he supposed to say? "My coach is a ******* idiot who doesn't know what he's doing" ?
What is he supposed to say if there is an issue (as Monty already alluded there was)? What player has called out a coach and had no repercussions as far as playing time or being traded? Unless he wants to be traded or to never get on there floor it makes no sense for him be negative.
We can throw in "what if" arguments all day. Seriously it's what this forum is all about
This Tyreke situation has soured me quiet a bit on Monty. I'm willing to sit back and see how it plays out but if this turns into some huge thing that brings chaos to the team then I'm DONE with Monty. He has one thing going for him over countless other failing coaches and that's that the team doesn't get into trouble and there's no issues. If suddenly we start having some, dude can go pound sand.
And I think all of the pro Monty brigade refuse to see any of the negatives (please don't respond with I'm not even a Monty apologist)
When Monty was asked on why Tyreke didn't play, he could have simply said "no comment" without getting himself in trouble or putting his player in an awkward situation now with the media.
I don't even love Monty as a coach. I just refuse to lamblast every single action he makes. It's outlandish. You guys don't give this dude ANY credit for anything. I refuse to see anything he does wrong? Please. If you think he does anything right on this board you're an 'apologist'. this board is turning into some extreme bias type political site where it doesn't matter what the other side does, IT'S WRONG. It's a joke just like politics. Let's talk about the weapons Monty has at his disposal to tell players they're doing something wrong.
1.) He can speak to him and see if he corrects it. Do you think he hasn't done that?
2.) He can yell at him on the court. Do you think he hasn't done that?
3.) He can not give him PT to show him, he really means it. Which he is doing.
4.) He can play the media game which Phil Jackson has done on numerous occassions (not saying he's Phil Jackson) to get a message across. \
5.) He can tell the GM this guy just isn't getting it and to try and move him.
I feel like Monty is trying to get a message across to Tyreke and is using the escalation process in the right order. If a guy refuses to do something you're asking him to do explain to me how it'd be better handled? Let him play and let him know that no matter what is said you get your money and PT? I love Tyreke and his game, but you must play within your coach's system. There is literally no other leverage a coach has over his players.
This is how I feel. Don't necessarily hate him. I wouldn't want his job, but I don't love him either. But it's become way too common here at PR.com that if you don't complain in each and every thread about Monty then you're obviously a "supporter" or a "defender" or a "Monty apologist". I've always felt that when the team officials feel Monty isn't doing a good enough job, they will get rid of him.
That is how Monty runs his offense dumbly enough is to dribble out the clock. It is why we have so many shot clock violations.

You say that is Evans could have said "no comment" and everything would have been fine, then why can't the same thing be said Monty? If it truly is an internal issue, keep it internal and say no comment, instead of adding fuel to the fire.
If you really feel that way I'm sorry and I'd hate to view things the way you do. You only read the posts you want to argue about and gloss over the rest. I have many times got on Gordon's case, Steimsa, Roberts, Rivers, Aminu, even Jrue when he was struggling (EVEN EVANS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR - the guy this is all about). So keep spewing your lies it's all good.
First off, I said you never give him credit for anything. Not that you disagreed with everything. That's pretty close to fact. You may have said something nice since the beginning of the season but I'd bet it's about a ratio of 1/50 (good to bad). So keep spewing your augmented arguments, it's all good. The base of the argument, which you conveniently left out to cherry pick a very specific point, was the tools a coach has at his disposal to get his message across. You disagreed how he handled it; please tell me the better way. Just let him get away with not listening ? I'm seriously asking.
I just want people to be fair. Did I like the tyreke benching ? Nope he's one of my favorite players. Do I understand that there was a reason and coaches have limited ability to hold guys accountable. Yep.
I've had to say it quite a few times before and this is what happens when people ignore posts:
But people what say anyone who is against Monty wants him gone RIGHT NOW!!!!! If you guys would actually ask people who has issues with Monty, I think you would realize that most do not think an in-season firing would help. But it's OK keep on.
Where did anyone say you said that?
My advice is to not take posts on a forum directly.
But yet, here is this thread, constantly growing. I guess the majority that knows firing him right now would not help are not participating in this thread? But yet it's still such a big thread. I try to stay out of it because it really serves no purpose but, I have a duty.
If you really want to be that ridiculous I will go back and search through my posts where I have given Monty credit for something but that will take a while. If it's a ratio if 1/50 that is because poster keep bringing up the same arguments and I have to keep restating the facts. I only have really had issues with Monty in 2 key areas: his rotations, and stubbornness to adjusts defense to team personnel. And now this thing with Tyreke. Anything I have said about him can be tied into one of those areas. If 5 different people bring up the same point 5 different times I'm going to say my opinion 5 different times. You do the same thing so what is the difference? I don't complain about that to you.
Ok again I try and get to the root of the argument and it's ignored. Have a good day.
I argue that is more true than an assumption.
I didn't ignore it I already explained it and am tired of repeating myself. You said that Evans could have said "no comment", I followed it up with why couldn't Monty have said "no comment" when being asked about why Evans did not play instead of adding fuel to the fire. But you never responded.
Goodness me this board is becoming whiningreport.com.
No, YOU assumed that. I never said EVERYONE who wants Monty fired wants it done now. You took it personally. There have been PLENTY of people who have said this.
