They still have enough depth to finish 4-8 in the East.
If you scroll up this thread you'll find that I predicted it a week ago. Wasn't that hard to predict either, especially given the exact same thing happened to Durant in GS.

Not to Pels brass. They really wanted Queen. ATL ended up drafting Asa Newell with that pick at 23. It's very possible ATL wouldn't have traded back for two future 1sts....like they wanted one future and one lower pick on this one. So as far as our FO is concerned, the trade was necessary.

From a fan standpoint, the Pacers are in the East and will still pick in the late teens to early 20s AND with that signing the Bucks will also probably pick in the 20s. Trading away their picks has now become less of a bad move.

So our 2026 pick is now the one most in danger of being in the lottery and making it a bad trade.

From this fan's standpoint, the Bucks roster is still a disaster and is a Giannis injury away from being in the lottery. But no matter what the result of the picks are, the trade was horrible. If they wanted Queen that badly, they should have just taken him at 7. We'd have been much better off that way.

Disagree. Our pick is definitely in danger. However, that Pacers pick has a much better chance at being higher than 23 and maybe even a lottery pick. Haliburton is out for the year and now Turner is gone with no credible replacement. It is pretty much up to Siakam to carry them.

If the Pacers hadn't traded for their pick back there's a very good chance they would've just re-signed Turner.

Have you seen the Eastern conference ? It's basically a train wreck, the play-in is the floor for these pacers, can't say the same for the pelicans in the West.
