    Absolutely.

The hope for Fears is that he comes in and his speed and burst immediately translates and he can be a guy who gets into the paint and dishes a ton, and the impact from that will help keep him afloat until he develops more of a scoring game. If he can do that and become a decent shooter (doesn't need to be Steph Curry but 28% is not gonna cut it) over his first two or three years, then we'll be talking.

He does have upside, it's just that the floor for such a small guy with so few proven skills is crushingly low.

Gotta get a big at 23 though imo.

Was he the same age/younger as Kira when we drafted him? He isn't 19 yet with months to go, that's super young.

Yeah they both reclassified to get into their year groups. Fears is either the youngest or second youngest guy in the class, I can't remember if Flagg is younger.

Comparing him to Kira isn't exactly a good way to drum up confidence though

(I don't, for the record, think this says anything about the Durant trade lmao)

I low key hate that the NBA doesn't let trades finalize until after the draft so rookies have to wear gear for teams that aren't actually drafting them.

    True
So who we looking at/hoping to get for pick 23?

Rasheer Fleming is one option. Plays big, rebounds well, developed a good shot over his years in college, slightly older player. I wish he was a little taller though, he's only 6'8.

I think Danny Wolf is a cool option too. He's got the height; can't shoot as well, but is a really good passer and elite rebounder.

Cedric Coward, if he falls. 6'6 with 7'2 wingspan, 40% from 3, good rebounder, shot really well at the FT line, pretty good secondary rim protector especially for his height.

Some people like Walter Clayton Jr, I can see why (39% from 3 on some volume, steady hand, good decision maker, etc) but he's only 6'3 and I think we've drafted enough small guards for now - meanwhile we're still starving for bigs.

    Well that rules out Coward.

Dumars gets in the mix again, moves up from 23 to 13!

Pels get another top 15 pick. Wow, did not see that coming. I wonder who Dumars has his eye on for that to be a priority.

The 2026 pick has potential to work out very badly for us. Very very very badly.

    Jesus Christ.

Well, at least I have my health. Gotta have something. Potentially disastrous negative value trade to move up and take Queen of all people.

  14. #39
    How about that.
Queen may have been there at 23 without the trade.

This means we don't have a pick for 26 anymore?

Whichever pick is better out of ours and Milwaukees will go to ATL.

So if we stink and win 21 games or something, we don't even get a lottery pick anymore lmao

Horrific trade to move up 10 spots and get someone who isn't even an incredible prospect.

  16. #41
    Alas
shall say the same as before.
May he do his best. Won't get upset on him before he gets into uniform.

I hated the idea of him at 7 but I dig this pick at 13.

If Zion stays remotely healthy, we're a playin team at the worst so I'm OK with the trade.

    Dumars is forming his team.

Queen has the potential to be very good.

Not for the price you have to pay to get to 13!

I think I might need to start drinking.

    He wasn’t getting past 17

  21. #46
This year might be even more painful than last year.

  22. #47
Joe Dumars has had both phones out, and he's making bad decisions on both of 'em

  23. #48
If the Pels believe this is who they want, then so be it.
Hopefully we are decent-ish next year.

I am very surprised though we didn’t give top 5 protections on the 2026 pick

Every executive in the league should be calling Dumars tonight and seeing what else they can fleece him for.
