Zion's lawyer talked about going to the police for years over this accuser attempting to extort him. Dumars coming out and making this statement really does lead me to speculate that Zion has been up front with the Pelicans about this situation and they have know since it started.

This is all speculation but the tea leaves I'm seeing looks like it's a bad extortion attempt. We'll see if more info comes out that changes that.

The fact that this is a civil case and not criminal is not indicative of whether or not it is a false accusation. If the allegations are correct (I have no idea if they are or not), Zion took her phone and physically did not let her leave post-rape--making it impossible for her to get a rape kit and therefore virtually impossible for a criminal case to be filed.

I would not trust anything our office says until the dust settles. I hope Zion didn't do it. He never struck me as a bad guy- clearly immature but he seems a decent enough dude. The problem is more if this gains traction. Let's say this does. Who is to say more women won't come out and speak about this? More accusations. I do think there are women that try to extort men and take advantage of "METOO." These things often seem to escalate whether the person is innocent or not. Have to hope the storm passes.

Damn. A clown emoji would have really got me too. Never change, dumb pels fans. Never change. Wait until he is off the team. Suddenly everyone will hate him. But if he's wearing a Pels uniform fans will go to no end to justify bad behavior. Just like when AD was on the team and I'd catch flak for criticizing him and now everyone hates him too. For how long? She also came right back and stayed with him for several more years. Is he guilty? Who knows? Could she just be in it for the money now that he is with someone else? Who knows?
