Maybe, though it could just be a case of Minnesota doing due diligence and Utah using that phone call to pump up value.
    Basketball.

Interesting. That's more than I thought he'd get (we wouldn't have been able to compete financially).

Wonder if this does make WCJ redundant, or if they want to run both again.

I'm not going to pretend to remember who that is, but good for him.

I mean... if Lauri is up for grabs why aren't we interested??

This man is an otherworldly level of washed, amazed he's still getting contracts.

We probably can't meet the asking price on our own, and we need a C which he isn't.

Went undrafted and now, 15 years later, is still getting contracts and has made over $50m.

Hated almost every moment he was on the court for us, but one must respect the hustle.

this off season, kind of feel like the off season we had where we signed rondo....i dont think anyone was talking about rondo to new orleans...

we dont have a starting C or backup PF to zion...i guess robinson-earl will be the guy....im starting to believe something good is coming at the center position for us....

He's more of a power forward but he is 7 ft and could be a small ball 5... if we lose Ingrams salary then I could imagine we afford him. Given how much Willie seemed to hate a traditional big man at center it's intriguing.

Man I hope not... Robison-Earl is not someone who should be getting minutes. Maybe they really are going to keep BI and send Herb to the bench as a backup PF

In fact, in past seasons WCJ has even posted DREB% as high as 29%, which is actually in JV territory.

Even his OREB% isn't that far off - about 11% for JV this year, about 9.5% for WCJ. The counting stats don't show it quite so much because he just hasn't played the minutes (averaged 25mpg last year) but the rebounding is absolutely there.

Concern about rim protection is fair but then, JV never really offered that either, and WCJ offers a shooting threat that we could benefit from quite a lot.
He is not sharpshooter. His health is a huge concern. Also, from what I recall, he is not someone the Magic used to close games and did not garner a ton of minutes. However, I think we are at the point where our options may be limited. At least he is on a reasonable contract.

If anybody goes to the bench it need to be mr McCollum let’s see if he a team player and vet like he put on to be because his best attribute for us has been spot up shooting that’s a role of a bench player he could be 6th man of the year
Herb should be a lock to start honestly sometimes seems like our highest iq player

My anger and frustration at this US soccer game is only quelled knowing the Lakers have had a horrible off-season.
BI, Zion, and CJ had a net rating of +3 when on the court together. BI and Zion had a +13.4, BI and CJ had a +13.2, Zion and CJ was just +5.4.

BI and Zion worked. BI and CJ worked. It was CJ and Zion and all three together that didn't work.

I agree his health is a concern - it's the first thing I wrote in the post you're replying to.

Not a ''sharpshooter'', no, he's not KAT, but he's taken at least 3 3PAs a game for the lat three years in a row, and the efficiency has also risen each year (33/36/37 % respectively).

He shot a better percentage and higher volume in 2022-23 than BI did this year, for comparison. For a C, that's not bad. And as mentioned, the rebounding is actually just good.

Especially, as you say, because the options are drying up. Despite a pledge to be ''aggressive'' in making roster moves this free agency, Griff and Graham have actually been incredibly sedate since the Murray trade, and everyone is pretty much settled.

Lakers/Lebron jumping in the Ingram sweepstakes? Will Lebron give us Reeves?
