I'm pretty content with 36 on 80%TS tbh. 40 would have been nice, but I'm cool with it.
    Basketball.

Pels get absolutely washed by Lakers in Vegas, Zion spends the next 72 hours getting raked across the coals by everyone and their mother.

Pels come out against the No. 1 seed in the West, best defense in the last 5 years of the NBA (yes, missing their top guy but still very well equipped to win a game) and we win by 14.

Zion has 36 on 80.8%TS, only 1 foul and 1 TO - team best +26
CJ goes from 4/14 from the floor to 8/15 tonight and hit 4 threes.
JV goes for 14/13/4 after not even hitting 5 rebounds last time out.
    Herb has 7/10/5, +20
BI gets 20 points and compensates for a mediocre shooting night (5/13) with 8/9 from the FT line.

    That's how you respond.

Did Z look kinda PO'd in the post-game with Jen Hale? No smiles, maybe that means he's focused

This was a much needed win. It doesnt completely wash the taste away from getting blown out of the semi finals tournament game but at least we aren't still in a skid

Can you even call it a skid? We lost one game.

It was the semi finals. Getting ran out of the gym and folding under pressure in that kind of scenario is worse than losing one game. It would be better to lose consecutive meaningless games than to do what we did.

Maybe, but that doesn't make it a skid imo. I feel like a skid refers to a losing streak, not just a bad loss.

Not looking for an argument, just wondered if I had missed something. Apparently not.

Semantics? 1 game is not a "skid" in any universe.

Next 4: Washington, San Antonio, Charlotte and Memphis.
If we want to make playoffs we have to win all 4.
However considering our history against tanking teams we will go 2-2 at best.

Memphis will be a little tougher than expect as Ja will be back. However, I agree we need to win the winnable games and stop playing down to competition.

This board is just full of joy juice. Always fun to come here after a ridiculously impressive win just to see people urinate all over any optimism.

Also - we definitely don't HAVE to win all four to make the playoffs. It's a loooong season. We're nowhere near must-win territory and we'll definitely drop some games we're supposed to, because that's a thing that happens to literally every team in the league.

Feels like someone disappeared from this thread.. weird how that works.

I learned that joy and Pelicans dont go together sadly.
It is ofc not must-win, but if we keep droping these, we will make play-in and then hope we have good 1 or even worse 2 games.
We still dodnt have Ingram or Zion injury. That is comming. In order to survive that we have to win these games and we already dropped 3 of them

Exactly how they needed to respond. They should be proud and motivated to build on this win.

Stephen A Smith is a blowhard who has made a career out of hyperbole and fabrication.

Zion needs to prove the general opinion wrong, but he doesn't need to pay SAS any attention whatsoever - and neither should you. Dude is a clown.
