    Pelicans November 8th - New Orleans Pelicans @ Minnesota Timberwolves - 4-3

I had a whole write up here, but this has become a scheduled loss.

Zion is now added to the injury report for ''personal reasons'' - Some are speculating his child is being born, but right now it's unconfirmed.
Herb is also questionable due to Jokic falling on his leg last game.

CJ, Trey, Jose, Naji, all still out.

We might as well let our G-League team play...

This is an absolute joke of a franchise. They don’t even attempt to give us winning basketball.

only one star playing so the team will play better team ball....ingram just have to step up and match ant energy and score alot of points and we may win this game...

if jonas is not in foul trouble then 30+mins this game and a nice double double....hope hawkins is still on fire and confident ...ryan should be still on fire from his last 2 games but i want him coming off the bench.....

if herb cant go....start,,hawkins- ingram- dyson- nance- jonas....let ryan be the 6th man and just come in with the green light...

I mean, you're not wrong, but in this case I don't really think it's reasonable to expect otherwise.

CJ has a collapsed lung. We all saw Herb get injured by Jokic. No one sensible expects Zion to miss the birth of his child. It's not like it's about ''attempting'' in these cases.

Well at least the star of this team will be playing tonight. Thank you Mr. Jordan Hawkins!

I want him to take 20 3PAs tonight.

Looks like Herb may be a little bit of a gametime decision. Wouldn't surprise me if he plays tbh

    Say it with me folks:

Jose Alvarado, who sustained a right ankle sprain during an offseason workout, continues to make good progress in his return to play progression. Alvarado has returned to light on-court work and is expected to return to full team practice in the next 1-2 weeks.
Okay, so its a bit better than just saying we'll get another update in 2 weeks, but saying he'll return to practice (knowing that practice is not the same as actually playing, necessarily) in 2 weeks is a lil annoying.

The CJ news is just that he seems to be recovering well and we'll get more updates later.

We were getting killed on the boards against much smaller teams then Minny. What to expect tonight?
I would go with: Hawkins/Herb/Ingram/Nance/Valanciunas and bring Robinson-Earl and EJ of the bench for big spots. Or should we go with Ryan instead of Nance and try our luck with 50 3pt attempts?
I need to see intensity and rebounding. We are loosing this since Minny is playing good and with all of the injuries they matchup well against us.

We're the Pelicans so in a game like this, everyone out, either we lose by 35 and get beaten on the boards by 20+, or we somehow have one of those games we seem to have three times a year where everything clicks and we win on a night we absolutely shouldn't.

I do think tonight should be essentially a test for the auxiliary guys. How many 3s can Hawkins and Ryan get off and still be effective? Can EJ actually contribute? Can Kira actually play with a positive impact for once? How far can you actually push some of these units before they break?

We know winning is unlikely, so why not use it as an opportunity to try things out.

That's why I said I want to see Hawk get 20 3PAs up. Not because I think he should necessarily be aiming for that number artificially, but because I want to see how far he can push the flamethrower approach before it starts seeing diminishing returns on the opposing defense. Might as well find out now.

Heard that the birth of Zion’s child might keep our other star out as well. BI is reportedly experiencing sympathy pains.

You say that, but tonight is basically designed for Ingram to have a big scoring night. No other on ball guys around, missing a bunch of scoring, etc. If he gets less than 30, I'd consider it a let down by his standards.

Another 2 way player that will be given more look than EJ.

I'd prefer EJ too, I really did like him out of college and I think he can provide a more well rounded game than JRE if he pans out, but at the same time, in a game this shorthanded I'm hoping he'll still get some minutes and we have a time honored tradition of starting guys on 2 ways.

The fact that we have that tradition isn't a great sign, but we do.

I did like him coming out of college as well. He probably hasn't recovered from that injury and the team is taking the slow approach

Dyson is 8/8 on the season from floater range, credit to him

2/9 to start is not a good look whatsoever

Not getting anything easy. Nobody can create an advantage in this lineup.

I think that was the first play to generate an open 3 so far this game that didn't crumble immediately upon starting
