Pelicans November 1st - New Orleans Pelicans @ Oklahoma City Thunder - 2-1

Let's see if we can recover after a pretty frustrating game in many respects.
    Basketball.

I'm hopeful the refs will stay neutral in this one. But I'm not holding my breath.

We can only hope. They completely took over last game.

I hope the team sees this game as a challenge. OKC beat us in the Play-In tournament, so it's time for a rematch! If you want to be someone in this league, you have to win such a games!

I assume (perhaps incorrectly and he'll be evaluated in two weeks) he'll play tomorrow.

I'm really starting to wonder if these dudes are just soft. Obviously, I don't know the details but when I have a patient that has random soreness, and I do work with athletes, if the scans are negative it's a matter of pain tolerance. At some point you have to take the bubble wrap off and let them play through pain occasionally.

Of course I don't know anything about BI and his history but this feels like a case of overprotection.

    They are absolutely just soft.

There's a degree of difficulty in understanding the Pelicans injuries because of how unclear they've been in the past. Take the end of last season for example: was Zion able to play or not? He said he was okay physically but didn't feel like himself - Griff says he was never cleared to play. Was there a misunderstanding and Zion meant no long term damage, or was Griff playing damage control with PR? Fans won't know for certain and will just take whichever side fits what they want to believe in advance.

But in this particular case, given that they have publicly and officially stated that there is no actual issue, it does feel a lot like BI is just being kinda soft. Which fits in to a lot of the stuff we heard being reported last year about people in the locker room thinking the same thing when he missed that extended period near the start of the season.

7-0. Not looking good. Thanks B.I. Once again we are 3 games into the season and this teams so called "star" is showing that he can't be counted on whatsoever.

When you're halfway through a quarter, your leading shot taker is Hawkins, and he's 1-4, that's not a good sign.

Wow this defense is awful. Giddey is getting to the rim every time he wants to.

If you are garbage on defense you can always make up for it by be an awful shooter. I think that's the saying...?

It's depressing at this point. Every year, even years where we do end up alright, we take 6-8 weeks to get into gear. I don't understand it. Well, actually I do, but none of the stuff that I understand about it are justifiable.

It's not even on him exclusively, not trying to rag on him, but there's just no universe where he should be your leading shot taker. Zion needs to be a little more aggressive and stop passing up some of these opportunities - I get he's trying to play the system but when you're the best guy, sometimes if nothing is working you just have to make it happen.

Not fair at all on the rookie the way we're playing. He's in a tough enough spot anyway being forced to start at this stage in his career, doesn't need to be carrying the primary scoring load as well.

Also yes, Zion, you were fouled, but you don't get that call. You never do. Get on with the game.

I'm pretty done with Ingram at this point. He is lead footed, has no handle with the ball, and is always injured. ALWAYS. Dude is 26!

"Nah, I'll just WADDLE back and play no defense and get scored on after I lose the ball while complaining to the refs"

It's annoying because I completely understand why he's frustrated and you shouldn't have to just accept bad reffing, but you do. Sucks on both sides.

    Team looks completely dead.

How is it possible that Dyson’s shot has regressed from last year.
