Pelicans October 30th - New Orleans Pelicans vs Golden State Warriors - 2-0

The NBA schedule has helped prevent Golden State?s Steph Curry and a few of the Warriors? other most well-known players from competing in the Smoothie King Center in recent years, but the league?s all-time best three-point shooter and two-time MVP will be on the floor Monday evening vs. New Orleans. According to Golden State beat writer Anthony Slater of The Athletic, head coach Steve Kerr said after Sunday?s 106-95 win at Houston that he will use the starting lineup Monday of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green and Kevon Looney.
There has been some speculation about limitations to the main guys for GS, as this is their second game of a back to back and guys played legitimate minutes last night, but Kerr doesn't appear to have any such intentions. Now of course, he may be planning to start them but limit their minutes, but I wouldn't rely on that. The team will have to show up consistently to make this work. So far, through only two games, we have the 2nd best defense in the NBA but a bottom 10 offense: there's a lot of room to improve on that end, largely from the shotmaking perspective, so this team hasn't hit its ceiling. We should be trying to make a statement tonight.

houston gave GS a good fight last night so i hope we can take advantage of that and put this game away at the 7min mark in the 4th....i want to see the backups hold or build on to the lead and not play sloppy like they did at the end of the knicks game.....

i wish jose was playing tonight...i know cp3 will not miss him tonight after playing last night...

Just don’t get complacent. You only drop these opportunities when the effort doesn’t match the talent. That or the other team gets absurdly hot from 3 which is a given in today’s NBA from time to time. If the effort is there though, I find it hard to believe we drop this one.

If Steve Kerr pulls Steph from the lineup tonight, there’s gonna be hell to pay. I have yet to see Steph Curry on the SKC court in 3 years despite attending each of the Warriors games.

Can we get to 3 and OH?

I like that Willie has been able to keep BI and Zion's minutes down. If they are able to do that it will hopefully pay off later in the year. These are the games you expect the minutes to maybe creep up a little.

Let's see how the team reacts when JV and Zion gets targeted by the warriors.

That sounds like a good problem to have. I've never understood wanting to see the other teams stars playing. I want to see a beatdown win. Their stars not playing helps accomplish that.

He supposedly has a sore left foot and played last night. I'd be surprised if he plays 30 minutes again.

But remember players have to play at least 65 games if they want to be considered for any post-season award$$ now. New rule.

That rule is just propaganda/lip service. Players can sit out every 2nd game of a back-to-back and they would lose 14 games on average. That would get them to 68 games. Of course, a legitimate injury would knock them out of contention, but I don’t think the players care as much about awards as they do about long-term health and earning potential.

Agree. I go to see the Pelicans and will take a win however it comes.

Well yeah, I'm not sure why there was debate around it, I posted the quote from the NBA official website leading into the game where Kerr said that he would be.

I put the dollar signs in the "awards" for a reason. Those awards mean more money come contract negotiation time, if they aren't already built into current contracts.

Players aren't going to fool around with those 65 minimum games.

Why is BI out though? This team is weird for that.

Bally's app not working for some reason. Was fine the 1st two games. When I open, it just spins. Anyone else?

Yep. Forced an update and now it's dead on my phone and FireTV.

It wouldn't be a Pelicans season without the Bally App crapping out.
BI, Zion, and CJ had a net rating of +3 when on the court together. BI and Zion had a +13.4, BI and CJ had a +13.2, Zion and CJ was just +5.4.

BI and Zion worked. BI and CJ worked. It was CJ and Zion and all three together that didn't work.

We are the Pelicans. Even if our health is overall good, guys are going to miss games for all types of reasons and we just have to accept that. Even in the best case realistic scenario, both Ingram and Zion miss at least 15 games each (probably 20), so we just have to accept it.

I'm still going to blame Solomon Hill.

    Hawkins looking comfortable early

    Offense flowing early

Same. App and website no longer work. WTF

Herb steals and Zion puts in a stupid layup through contact. No whistle, unsurprisingly.

Refs on their ''if Draymond does it, we didnt see'' mode

JHawk has had a really good start to his career. Even defensively he is really putting in the effort. Might have a steal.
