Thread: New Orleans Pelicans vs Orlando Magic - Preseason - 0-3

I love how much CJ has talked about wanting to be a lead guard in the past when I wouldn't trust him to run me a bath, let alone an offense.
    Basketball.

    It’s just really ugly basketball.

He just had a really hot game though, so it'll come. I believe in the shot.

Spin into a jump hook for Zion from 8 feet, over 2 defenders

  8. #33
Give and go with BI and Zion leads to a bucket

I think Hawkins shot them into a slump and then the starters bounced back.

At least it's not an embarrassment so far. Thats progress.

Somebody finally got in Zion's arse about his defensive effort. Came out tonight with 5 first half steals and 1 block.

His first STOCKS of the entire preseason. Better late than never.

Zion 16 pts, BI 14 pts. At least the "Zion and BI will never work" talk will die off this week. Thank god.

Now if somebody would wake up CJ.

    Halftime thoughts:

    - Zion and BI getting a way more even split of shots tonight and it's hugely beneficial to the offense.
    - When Zion's really going, no one can really stop him, it remains impressive no matter how many times we've seen it
    - BI getting those midrangers within the flow of the offense instead of isolation makes him so much more dangerous
    - Hawkins shot still isn't falling but the looks are actually really good. Imagining Trey in those positions is a dream.
    - JV is really good when we actually use him, should do that more often.
    - Herb remains Herb.
    - CJ really needs to focus on being that shooter, not that creator. He's not that guy.
    - Dyson chipping in well again, in another game. He's really showing that he has utility.

I think CJ needs to wake up as the 6th man.

    cj- zion- bi- jonas- herb

    jose- dyson- nance-naji- trey

thats a healthy 10 man rotation that lacks size at the 4/5...

    then you have...

kira- who the team has been saying good things about

    hawkings- 1st rounder

    liddell- backup big

    zeller- backup big

willie might be going 12 deep if the team get fully healthy .....

I wish, but it's just not gonna happen. He's the vocal guy, he's the NBAPA guy, he's on a big deal. I just don't think Green has it in him to have that conversation even if he wanted to.

Dyson in for Zion to start the 3rd

  17. #42
Love that big looping off ball motion by Herb

  18. #43
    Ballhandler Herb giving dividends

  19. #44
    BI with the middie

We're trading buckets now, no stops

CJ hits a three - only our second of the game

CJs offense is not nearly good enough to make up for his incredibly bad defense.

Yeah he's been bad this preseason.

Handle not nearly tight enough for what he's been trying to do, and he's not fast enough, strong enough, tall enough, or tricky enough to make up for it.

Misses passes every ten seconds. Shooting hasn't really been that convincing either.

When he's off-ball and shooting, hes looked good. All other times, no.

All that just adds to him looking out of place with the starters. I’m hoping they find a solution, cause his defense with Jonas is going to be an annoying thing on a nightly basis.

Ingram again with his signature game 8/16 FG; 0/1 3PT... Those kind of shots are getting us right where we dont want to be, 10th spot...

With a signature 6 assists and 4 rebounds in 24 minutes. He also had 4 steals the other game.

Then again you've been typing drunk garbage for a few days now. I have a number you can call for help. There's a great 30 day program in Houston.
