Pelicans New Orleans Pelicans vs Houston Rockets - Preseason - 0-1

We lost last game but it was mostly in the second half where everyone who isn't an NBA player got run. In the first half, there were ups and downs but the offense looked good and there were moments where the defense looked pretty solid too, even if that wasn't consistent.

Let's see if the team can build on those positives tonight and pick up a W.
    Basketball.

With all due respect, a 41 point second quarter....a quarter in which our starters played....had a little to do with the loss, too. We were playing the Magic...not the Warriors, not that Suns, not the Celtics, not the Bucks, and not the World Champion, Nuggets. We were playing the frickin' Orlando Magic. Only two of our players came out with a will to compete on Tuesday: Herb And Dereon. Something is amiss.

    ...

    As an aside:

Isn't it interesting that JAX is +34 in his three games with the Lakers and has made every one of his FGA's (and he has played starter minutes against Sabonis and Claxton)? And, many of us are whining about the Center position? He was ours for the taking.

    But:

We'll trade an arm and a leg to get Steven Adams.... and then the next year, we'll trade more to get rid of him.

We'll trade what could have been an arm and a leg to get Davonte' Graham...and then we'll trade more, the next year, to get rid of him.

We'll traded two very serviceable younger players (one I wished we still had today) for an aging defensive liability (truly, a fire hydrant( and an always-injured undersized center.

Yes, my team has problems...and those problems go well beyond the play on the court. I swear, I hope I have to eat my words this year, but if I was a betting man.........

I would recommend looking up the definition of the word ''mostly''.

Love Ingram early here, he's looking very confident

Between geo-locking, dodgy League Pass, and bad internet, this is not an easy game to watch for anyone

BI and Zion back to back turnovers

    Looking lazy out there

Herb now 3/4 from 3 in preseason

Parking Zion in the corner and not giving him a touch on multiple consecutive offensive possessions is something Green's done before, and it's never good. If you're not going to give him any shots, he doesn't provide any spacing - why even bother playing him?

Think that's Jonas' first touch all game

Rare high effort defense from Zion and BI just gets backcut anyway lmao love it

The new look # 1 is leaving a lot to be desired early on.

Not impressed at all with this team in either game.

Naji comes in, immediately turns it over

    Beautiful game

Compare the offense this quarter to the first quarter last game, it's like a different team. Baffling.

Finally get the game up on my tablet, and there is no option for full screen.

This is just plain pathetic. No reason to struggle to watch games this day and age. Preseason or not.

I mean, he's right though. Would you prefer it if I'd just written out the same sentiment? Zion's our best scorer and he got 1 (one) shot in 7 minutes, meanwhile CJ was doing his best performance of the Nutcracker on multiple plays. It's an issue now, it was an issue a year ago.

There will be moments when Zion doesnt pass the ball to CJ or BI when they have an advantage. It will also happen vice versa. They just passed Zion the ball and he fumbled it away for a turnover.

I know you and Shamit thinks Zion is the Pelicans god and the others need to defer to him 99% of the time, but it simply isn't the truth.

There is only one basketball so there is no need to yell to the world whehever those other guys dont give the ball to Zion over and over and over. But other teams prepare for that.

    Plus, it's only preseason.

These announcers have their audio so cranked it's massively distorted. Cheapest available crew with some wal mart mics I guess.

Our smallball center was no where near the goal on that Segun putback.

While you're at it, tell me how many rebounds does he have? How about assists? How about Personal Fouls?
