He's talking about the radio interview Ainge did a few days ago where he said that he would be willing to trade for a player with no guarantee that that player would resign as long as it was ''the right player''. Who else do you think he's talking about, Darren Collison?
That, plus the MULTIPLE leaks that say Boston is willing to trade everyone but Tatum, and that Boston is telling New Orleans to be patient and wait because Ainge is willing to put everything on the line.
Of course Ainge isn't going to come out and say ''We are willing to trade all of our assets for Anthony Davis, the forward from New Orleans'', because he'd had $100k stripped from him before he could press send tweet.

That's not Ainge's ''full quote'' at all. It was a radio interview, of some length. Here's some more answers from that same interview:
When asked if he would trade for a player with no assurance they would stay:
“Yes. But it depends on the situation. It depends on the player, the circumstances and the package you have to trade for him. We’ve had a chance to do it and have done it, and we’ve had a chance to do it and have not done it.”''
''It’s not about selling the player. They want to be themselves and they want to win. It’s about creating an environment where they can reach their goals. That’s usually how you keep players.”
What does that say to you? It tells you that yes, if it is a player he wants and he can make the deal, he is willing to trade for a player with no guarantee they will resign because he believes the Celtics can create ''an environment where they can reach their goals'' and ''thats usually how you keep players.''
The idea that Ainge would refuse a trade without a promise of extension goes directly counter to what Ainge himself said. Come on man.

I dont think NMThreeMVP understands that GMs will almost never just explicitly come out and state that they're willing to trade their war chest for another player, especially such a high profile player. Tampering is not allowed, and Ainge is not an idiot. He will not come out and just say that he's gonna sell the farm for AD. That would violate league rules, AND throw his negotiating position under the bus. That's not going to happen. If that's what you're waiting for, wait forever cause it won't happen.
I don’t know how anyone can listen to that interview (I did) and come away convinced Ainge is willing to give up premium assets if AD isn’t willing to commit to resigning. Hell, he explicitly says he wasn’t even willing to do it for KG. And didn’t do it for another player.
I think he’d trade something for a rental. But as he says, it depends on the package, ie not everything he would if he had a commitment.
Yet somehow this gets conveyed through as he’s all in and doesn’t care.
Celtics have the better assets, as I’ve said and some people can’t read, so if Ainge was all in, why negotiate with the Lakers at all this week? It’s very obvious and clear to all of you that 1. Ainge will offer everythjng 2. Celtics offer is vastly superior ...
So seriously, why are Pels ... who could be focused on Niko/Julius trade or NFL draft ...negotiating with Lakers who have “trash” assets? Is Ainge or anyone else going to increase offers they can’t make until June anyway just because the Lakers throw in more trash assets? Yet...clearly Pels and Lakers are talking.
