    Rondo everyday.

Rose is a mediocrity without a calling card now. A mid to high volume mediocre scorer who is neither a good creater nor good defender nor shooter. Rondo on the other hand has strengths and weaknesses, but if you can use them correctly, his strengths are near the top of the league in those areas.

My free agent wish list would be:

    PGs
    1. Derrick Rose - not gonna happen and really wouldn't want it to. Not a good fit with Jrue I think.
    2. Rajon Rondo - maybe so and I think I like it surprisingly lol
    3. Ty Lawson - fall back if no Rondo hopefully
    4. Ian Clark - interesting option and may be the best but I'm hoping Frank Jackson is better version
    5. D Will - not interested in really, but if all else we could use a vet lol

    Wings:
    1. KCP - would be my dream pickup, but not happening
    2. Jonathan Simmons - like his hustle, but could be a Pop flop elsewhere???
    3. Gerald Henderson - wish he was a little bit taller and still a baller lol
    4. Gerald Green - always wanted to add this guy on the cheap
    5. Dante Cunningham - DC is solid and like his versatility to play the 3 & 4. Have about equal with the 2 higher guys.
**6. Michael Beasley - knew I would forget someone!! I'd take him. #'s 3-6 I have about even
    7. Arron Afflalo - see Henderson, but shot it from 3 better than him this past season.
    8. Anthony Morrow - old sniper comes back??
    9. Monta Ellis - 6th man? Not good enough probably and not worth the headache
    10. Tony Allen - love his D, but we need shooting!!
    11. Shabazz Muhammed / Jason Terry / KJ McDaniels / Marcus Thornton - couldn't figure which one I liked more and Dell could find better elsewhere probably. Cause of age, KJ should be by himself probably. Terry can still let it fly, but he's so old lol. Added Muhammed too. Thornton probably shouldn't be no where near this list, but still have a soft spot for the former Tiger, Hornet, & BR native lol.

May have missed some players, but it is some serious slim pickings...

Shved failed in the NBA. TBH it happens when a player is young.
He made his name in the Euroleague.

And was paid on the level of Teodosic.
So dont expect him coming cheap.

This is very good starting 5 and the thing I like the most out of it is that it goes opposite ways with the league trend. We cant beat Golden State at their game, let's create our own game with our super skilled big, 2 guards with a great feel for the game and an all around solid player on the wing.

Then we need some versatility from the bench. I like Crawford's profile, Moore is a great professional with a mature game. But then we are real thin. Diallo is still very raw and wild young (didn't like a couple things from him in summer league especially when he attempted to taunt John Collins), Cook and Jackson will battle for playing time but we can definitely grab someone up like Clark. Q-pon is an enigma. Ajinca has done his time.

Just adding Rondo makes this team great so I wish we sign him and then focus on upgrading the 3 or the bench.
    I agree with you

Rondo makes his teammates better more than any point guard we've been linked to

And that's just what we need right now. We have some heavy firepower already. This is a good signing

I would swap out Asiks contract with Rynos in a heartbeat. We would get a huge threat off the bench instead of someone who does nothing. Ryno is a great fit next to both AD and Cousins. Yes he is overpaid but Asik is one of the worst contracts in the NBA. Ryno will actually be moveable in a year when Asik will need a team making a very stupid decision to be moved. As Rynos contract gets shorter he becomes a valuable asset to some teams needing a big for the playoff stretch that can shoot 3s.

Rondo / Jrue / Hill / AD / Boogie is a great line up, especially if Gentry sets up rotations with Jrue/Rondo and AD/Boogie where one of each pair is always on the floor. Because then we have very few minutes per game where we have more than 3 bench players on the court.

We could see lineups like Cook / Jrue / QPon / Cunningham / AD or Rondo / Moore / QPon / Diallo / Boogie... When those are our _worst_ lineups in a game? Yes, I will take that every day.

For better or worse, the Pelicans have to count on that buzzword from 2 years ago going into next season: CONTINUITY.

Remember how valuable we were told that was for teams with playoff aspirations?

FWIW, I think both Hill and Moore should improve going into year 2. Especially Hill. What he was doing in Indiana before joining the Pelicans wasn't exactly the same as getting an extra 15 mpg in a Gentry offense. An entire off season will not only benefit Boogie, AD, and Jrue -as most expect, but will benefit Hill and other players who need to step up.

I think at the midway point of the season, we'll think differently about Dell's 2017 off season, because we'll think much differently about his 2016 off season.

Tbh this may come of pessimistic but if we sign rondo then our offense will struggle imo. Our two big men needed spacing and shooting to work, and this season is the most important one in franchise history. We HAVE to hit on everything right now, not no "maybes" or hopefully it will work type signings. If I'm Dell, I'll be even willing to trade two first rounders for Lin. It's obvious that he is not worth that, but this is a desperate season for everything involved. Screw PHX, they are not going to give us Bledsoe, throw the house for Lin, and DO NOT SETTLE for Rondo.

Our two big men can space and can shoot.

I think lack of preparation together was the worst thing

a lot of us seem to be forgetting/overlooking Darius Miller... maybe its just wishful thinking on my part, but I am looking forward to finding out if he actually has matured with his game...

Someone already said it but he could be a similar player to a healthy QPon

From his European highlights he looked pretty slow making moves, albeit a great shooter now. I think he'll be strictly a shooter in today's NBA

Yep. Plus they know the guy, his work ethic, etc. If we were going to give the BAE to a shooter like Gerald Green I'm actually more than fine with Miller on a minimum.

It's still not a certainty he even makes the team. Hopefully he can be similar to Crawford (i.e. unexpected bench spark plug).

Pass. He did nothing the first go-round in the NBA and will be 29 at the end of the year. Not sure he is worth the roster spot or anything about a non-guaranteed minimum tryout contract.
