This dude along with some of these other " insiders " are not insiders at all but like you said attention hounds .

Plus, Knights contract would affect the Boogie contract. We still have Oppo to stretch Asik if need be next year to make room for Boogie. But, if we take Knight, there ain't no stretching & that 15 mill could/would impede on Boogie. AD/Jrue/Bledsoe/Hill is 77 million. So, you wanna add Knights 15? How you gonna pay Boogie?
First, we don't know if Dell has authorization from ownership to stretch Asik to begin with. And even if he does, he's going to explore every option to get out from under Asik's contract without resorting to stretching him and wasting cap space, however little, over the next few years. (Not to mention stretching Asik still leaves us over the cap, so it doesn't help us in any way right now).

Second, Knight wouldn't be a "backup." He would start next to Jrue, just like he was signed to start next to Bledsoe. We've been looking for a guard to share ball-handling and playmaking duties next to Jrue. The hope would be Knight is that player. If we're set on keeping Boogie, which we clearly are, we have to win. And if the Pels think they can get tap into Knight's talent and convert him back into a somewhat productive basketball player again, they make the move. It's undisputable that paying 15m to Knight is better than paying 12m to Asik, and would thus constitute a better use of our cap space.

Third, any player is stretchable. It doesn't operate the same way as the amnesty clause. If Knight plays like a piece of turd, and you need the cap for Boogie, or more likely, another player, that option is always available, though obviously less than ideal given the additional length and amount of the contract.

It would be gamble, yes. But at least we would then have the potential for meaningful production using that cap space, as opposed to throwing money in Asik's direction.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

Then again, had Dell traded for Boogie this off-season instead of before the deadline, then I'd be hailing before him right now crowning us the winner of free agency, claiming we'd be top 5 in the West, etc. etc.

So, I'll give him another week to do something before going crazy.

"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin

    C'mon Dell, we're getting inpatient.

Can I change my user to TradeForBledsoe just for this off-season?
Would you rather a worse deal just to have it done quicker?

This is exactly my thoughts as well. Asik is basically dead weight. Knight became irrelevant because of the rise of Booker. Other than Jrue and maybe Crawford, we don't have any guards on this team capable of scoring like Knight can. Plus he's still young. Is it ideal? No, but that would be the cost of the Asik contract and trying to move it for a useful player.

I don't know all of the cap details but if swapping Knight for Asik and possibly filler inhibits the ability to resign Boogie them you obviously don't do it.

Point blank, we need more useful talent on this team. Especially at the wings and ball handling.

Asik for Knight, I'd do it in a heartbeat. The only catch is, I'm not sure Phoenix would do it. But they would likely consider it.

I would much rather Bledsoe but he is going to cost a lot more in assets. If somehow we can get both and still be able to do what we need to do with Boogie. Go for it.

On a slightly different note. I'm in the camp that is not worried until all of the pssoble targets have moved to other teams. Until then, something can still happen. Dell can't make players come here in FA nor can he make another team accept a trade. But if this is the team we roll into the season with, I will be seriously disappointed. Surely we can find another shooter somewhere. Dell is good at reclamation projects.

I don't hate him, I'm sure that he is a good guy, but he is a bottom 5 gm for sure.

Pointing at the Knicks (a team without a gm) as an example of a move that is worse than what Demps would do isn't exactly equal.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Yea if you went on other teams message boards around the trading deadline, they all wanted their teams to trade with us or the Kings. They think they are guaranteed of winning that trade. The Cousins trade reminded me of the 'cripple fight' episode on Southpark. Blows my mind Dell still has a job after all these years and almost every move, other than picking up good end of the bench players, has blown up in his face. All with a generational talent. And if Cousins leaves, that will be the last nail in the coffin.

Blows my mind we haven't fired Dell and hired Hinkie. Almost every move he's made has turned to hold. Saric and Noel for Jrue. Trading MCW for the Lakers unprotected pic, getting the Kings unprotected pic for a salary dump. Not to mention, Covington was a better than any 'find' Dell has made. And yet he is unemployed and Dell still has a job....Crazy

I have said it before, and I will say it again, Hinkie got a raw deal. He played the system against himself, and he was fired before he was able to finish his masterpiece. Every good thing the 76ers have going for them is because of Hinkie.

Here is a fun read on the 76ers roster.

    http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/...-20170706.html

Given that the 76ers and Pels have as many Playoff Appearances since AD got here (76ers actually made it to the 2nd round), its a real toss up as to who has the brighter future. We could say the Pels because we have Boogie and AD (and Jrue), but the 76ers roster has Embiid, Simmons, Fultz, Covington, Redick, Holmes, and Okafor.

Idk how to link tweets and don't know if it's against the rules to link tweets with profanity. But MM is spazzing on Twitter at people coming at him for leaking bogus news. I like MM but he is starting to lose all credibility.

The best way to discredit him is to quit mentioning him.

At least now I hope we can lock up Cunningham for the BAE. Also, still want CJ Miles for the rest of the MLE.

No need to use the BAE for Dante, we got his bird rights. So we can use BAE on another guy, say a rebounding machine like T. Robinson

He is starting to lose credibility? I believe that is wrong tense usage
