I would take knight over the corpse of Asik. At least he can score. He's better than anything currently on our bench.
Asik for Knight is classic "Cost vs. Upside" with a hint of "grass is greener."
I think Knight having a borderline all star season with Milwaukee is worth taking a flyer on IF the cost is Asik. I could also see Phx being done with Knight, his best days obviously aren't in the Arizona, and the opportunity to get out of that deal sooner while they rebuild being valuable.
@DanielVeuleman
MM has been on Twitter guaranting a trade will happen by today now someone called him out on it and he's now saying by training camp . If nothing happens today I hope this clears up the MM has insider info phenomenon but If something does happen today then he deserves credit . We'll see

I'd guess a trade would happen after summer league. Showcase our lesser contracts and make sure no injuries happen along with axel being able to be traded I think in a couple days.
I think as for knight, we look to be surrounding AD and DC with combo guards that can shoot and play defense. I think knight can do that. My thing is at least we can play him and if we can miraculously trade for a maxed out Wall, we can trade Jrue (25 mil) and knight (15 mil) and whatever else should be enough dollar wise. Maybe a change of scenery helps BK just look at EG, he turned into 6th man of the year.
Today is the day that our unguaranteed contracts could be traded. I believe that is what he was counting on. If we don't hear anything by today, I think that tells us the Pelicans haven't had something lined up this whole time. Which means we sat out of free agency in possibly the most important offseason of the franchise, all because of hopes and dreams. How awesome does that sound?
He's getting the 21 million from --We owe Asik 24 guaranteed . Knights contract is 45 million. Not to mention, Asik can be bought out for 3 million in final year. Knight would still be 15 million a year CAP hit. Btw, 15 million is certainly not back-up $$$ . Erwin Moores salary is back-up money. Shawn Livingston is back-up money. NOT 15 million
Agreed. This kind of gives me a Howard (Asik)- Plumlee (Knight) vibe where we get rid of a player we clearly don't want on the team in exchange for a player, with a bad contract, but high upside. Knight would never be my first option, but it may be our only. If this happens, I'll be more happy for NM than for us, but I would get the gamble if Asik is moved in the process and nothing better comes along.
"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
Knight had a bad season on a young team in a new system. He is 25, and while he is making $13m, $14m, and $15m over the next 3 years, you get out from that contract while he is still in his 20s.
Call me crazy, but I take that deal. Way to much upside to pass up on. But if gettin Bledsoe and Knight prevents us from landing Wall, then it's a hard pass for me.
Why would we give up Asiks 25 mill to pay a back-up 15 mill for 3 years. Asik is bought for 3 million in 3 yrs. Knight will still be on the books for 15. Plus, Knights contract would affect the Boogie contract. We still have Oppo to stretch Asik if need be next year to make room for Boogie. But, if we take Knight, there ain't no stretching & that 15 mill could/would impede on Boogie. AD/Jrue/Bledsoe/Hill is 77 million. So, you wanna add Knights 15? How you gonna pay Boogie?

In a vacuum I would trade Asik for Knight. The problem is not for both Bledsoe and Knight. Knight's contract is terrible for us with needing to resign Cousins next year and if we had Bledsoe we'd need to resign him too soon.
Basically, I'd give up the farm for Bledsoe but I'd be hard pressed to want both.
The New York Knicks have $35.52 MILLION (36% of the total cap) locked up on Tim Hardaway Jr. and Joakim Noah next season.

Sources with @WindhorstESPN: James Harden and Rockets are progressing toward deal on biggest contract extension in NBA history.

This will presumably be the 2nd use of the new DVPE. This time in extension form after Stephen Curry became 1st to get a new deal with it. https://t.co/4wjI7Dtf6U

68 pages, and all we have to show for it is re-signing Jrue and adding Miller.
C'mon Dell, we're getting inpatient.
Can I change my user to TradeForBledsoe just for this off-season?
