I still think someone's honeymoon and the 4th of July is causing some hesitation with any announcements coming from Airline. This isn't a major market, 4th of July/EssenceFest sucks all the oxygen out of the room down here. Heck, Jrue resigning barely registered.
It would be a big disappointment if that was it though.
Free Agency is 4 days old. Let's be a bit more patient. It takes two teams to tango.
"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
Everyone needs to chill about not signing anyone. We essentially brought in a superstar in Demarcus Cousins. He only played in what 17 games last year with no time to learn anything. He has a full offseason with this team and will be here for the start of camp. Hopefully we will add 2 to 3 guys. We didn't add Terence Jones till WAY late in the process last year. I'm just hoping we get Nick Young signed. Then have enough room left to sign Ty Lawson and a cheap power forward. Unless we bring back Dante, but I esseintally see him & Solomon Hill as giving you close to the same kind of play. Now if QPon or James Young don't look to make this squad or be healthy enough then yes we need Dante.
C: Cousins, Asik, Ajinca
PF: Davis, Diallo, Jerebko(someone like him or maybe bring back DMeaux lol)
SF: Hill, QPon, J Young
SG: N Young, Moore, Crawford, Jackson
PG: Holiday, Lawson, Cook
I'm hoping James Young has a wake up call and turns it around to be another find by Demps. The dude has talent in that he was drafted by the Celtics 17th overall 3 years ago. It sounds like he was just happy to be in the league and wasn't working hard enough to be successful. Kind of sounds like Gerald Green who also was drafted by the Celtics 18th in first, but didn't live up to expectations. He was out the league and got back in with hard work. Hopefully his fellow Kentucky players tell him what he needs to do to make it. Then I hope he takes that advice and turns it into on court success. You know they will do whatever they can to help him make the team.

Nick Young and Twolves have discussed a potential two-year deal in excess of $8M, per source. Young still considering other suitors.

I would be very happy if we land Lawson and Young. They are exactly what we need and should thrive in this system with their skill sets. Anybody know what is going on with DMO? Was hoping he would be back for another year and would be a great fit with the new scheme Finch is installing.

Idk y'all, it feels like the stars are aligning for us.
Phoenix wants a youth movement. Bledsoe takes away shots from their younger guys, and minutes from Ulis (who they like a lot). I think Bledsoe is done in Phoenix and it won't take as much as we think to get him. Moore, Ajinca, a couple 2nd round picks and cash should get it done
Moore and Ajinca gives them too veterans who are professionals, good locker room guys, won't complain about minutes and will help with mentoring.
The Franchise altering move is with Washington. The more I look at their situation I think it's obvious that Wall wants out. And Porter getting the max just put them between a rock and a hard place. Wall has stressed the need for a 3rd star and Porter isn't it. But they can't let a talent like Porter walk because they can't replace him and Wall will still walk. They are in the position we were in with CP3, they just can't improve the team much more than what they have now with Wall on the team. Wall is not going to sign that extension, he has expressed his frustrations with the team and I think he wants out. He's not the type to say that to the media.
I think we have the best offer from a team he would sign an extension with, we can give a top 15 PG in Jrue, a young prospect in Diallo, 2 1st rd picks and Asik for Wall and Mahini.
I may be a homer but I think this is excellent damage control for Washington. Beal and Jrue are still a top 3 backcourt in the East, Diallo is a promising 2 way big, they get 2 firsts and save $20M by swapping Mahini and Asik contracts. I think Jrue will agree to a S&T, if the deal is 4 year $110.
I just have this feeling that AD and Cousins have been in those guys ears all summer and I know they want to play together. MM said Demps is looking to make us a top 3 team, bringing in Wall and Bledsoe will do just that. If its true that Demps is putting in 20-22 hour days right now, he has to be after more than just Nick Young. Something's brewing, I feel it.
It really is time to take a step back a bit.
We got Boogie. That really is like this off-season. But guys.....Dell pulled that off. The fact that Dell could have brought in Boogie to pair with The Brow and we are actually dreaming of contention now is monumental.
The other fact that we did that and some of you are STILL calling for Demps' head shows just how horribly awful and emo DF and MM are and how far that depressing venom has seeped into your core.
REPENT!!!!
Or get counseling. That helps, too. Dopamine flow peeps.
This is exactly how I feel but I think maybe need to have a little more patience. IMO this has a way better chance of happening this offseason. Diallo has a very good season along with Jrue living up to his contract as an all star caliber PG will land us Wall. With an asset like Diallo along with our 2 1st round picks and even a filler like Jackson we have some serious power to get a deal done. Even if Washington doesn't want Jrue we can no doubt get a 3rd team involved to send more assets the Wizards way. You nailed it with it being very similiar to the CP3 situation. Unless Wall carries the Wizards to a game 7 Eastern Finals he's gone and we have the best shot to land him.
I think you are dreaming way too big. Wall has never even hinted that he wants out. He was trying to convince PG to come to Washington. Jrue has agreed to a 5 year deal. He is not going to completely redo that deal to accommodate a S&T at this point. I think the whole "trade" idea that MM has thrown out on twitter has many thinking we are getting some stars. His latest tweet was that Dell is making calls but cannot make other GMs make deals. Well, heck, every GM is making calls. That does not mean Dell is on the verge of something big. It may turn out to be nothing.
If I were Nick Young I would be swayed to joining the Wolves as well, unless the Pels could land Bledsoe or a dominant pg who could get me the open looks I need.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.
Alot of wishing for Bledsoe. I hope we get him as well but IDK what we got that they'd want. So I'm not gonna even get my hope sup.
What would it take to get C.J. Miles, Nick Young, and Ty Lawson? I like the size and shooting ability of a line up consisting of:
Cousins - 6'11"
Davis - 6'11"
Miles - 6' 6"
Young - 6'7"
Holiday - 6'4"
That's when you'll really get your money's worth out of a Solomon Hill and E'twaun Moore; when they're coming off the bench playing a smaller role. Add Ty Lawson to an already electric Jordan Crawford and we're making a little noise. At least enough to field a competitive team and replace the Jazz and the Clippers in the playoffs.

I believe there is gonna be a lot of disappointed Pels fans I just don't think Dell is gonna do much of anything . I think the most we can hope for is maybe Young and he really isn't much to get excited about.

Less than not doing much of anything, I think people will unfairly blame Demps if Nick Young signs with the Wolves or Warriors instead of here.
I mean...yeah, I get it. We didn't get him, but those are two teams that could well be in the conference finals next season. We're trying to get back into the playoffs in general. And we probably will, to be honest.
But we are making a move. But getting a trade to happen isn't something you just put in the Trade menu and hit X.
Frankly, Bledsoe makes the difference for me. I go all in for Bledsoe. Re-Sign Dante- forget Swaggy & use the MLE on AMO, Dunleavy & find another 3pt shooter. We can get 3 shooters for 8 million.. Surround Bledsoe, AD & Boogie w/ Solo. & a boatload of shooters. Ala Houston, except we have 2 of the best bigs in the league.
I don't know where everybody is getting this Bledsoe talk I haven't heard nothing about him being traded from anyone besides A few forum guys and a few pod cast guys that have no inside info , they may claim they do but it's obvious if you pay close attention they don't . I would love Bledsoe but I'll be shocked if it happens .

Your first sentence is a strawman argument. I said I would like to get Bledsoe. Phoenix is looking to dump, We are looking for a PG. I don't care if anyone has heard anything about anything.I would like to get Bledsoe & the conditions are favorable for a possible trade scenario. That's all.
I would offer no more picks then this years 1st and 2nd for Bledsoe with a player or 2 as fillers. After this season we would still have the assets in 2 1st rounders along with Diallo and Jackson tonpotentially move for a Wall or sign and trade with Westbrook. We need patience and let things fall in place. We are close to doing something special. Just enjoy the process and the ride because where we are might not ever happen again. We are sitting with 2 super stars who are the best at their positions still just entering the prime of their careers. Might take the next 2 off seasons to get everything in place but when we do it's going to be one hell of a ride.
