We have the MLE and BAE. That'd be more money.

Trade for Bledsoe. Sign Young and Lawson. Call it an off-season.

    C'mon Dell.

Did your sauce mention any trades brewing, perhaps for one Eric Bledsoe?

That would be an awesome off-season. Especially if we could bring back Cunningham as well.

Apparently MINN is under the cap, but only by ~7m. We can offer more with the MLE at 8.4m. Though I doubt Young gets much more than the taxpayer MLE (~5.2m), which GS can offer and MINN can match with "practical cap space."

Potentially, the Pelicans can offer Nick Young a 4-year deal and around $36 million with the mid level exception, which would mean a salary of $8.4 million next season. The Timberwolves, who are operating under the salary cap line, have less than $7 million of practical cap space available, and they would have to renounce the cap holds of Shabazz Muhammad and Brandon Rush, just to name a few.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

    Anyone think this is possible?

    Pels get: Bledsoe, Crowder

Boston gets: Ajinca, Toupane (non-guaranteed), 2019 1st round swap rights, and 2020 1st round pick (top-3 protected)

Phoenix gets: Asik, Marcus Smart, 2018 Pels 1st round (top-3 protected)

Boston clears cap room to sign Hayward, and they clear space on the wing (very crowded roster) for Hayward's minutes, and they get future picks, which Ainge is obsessed with. This deal has a Brooklyn sort of feel to in on their end. Phoenix has said they'll take on salary for young assets and picks. They get Smart to be their PG of the future, and they get our 1st round pick this year.

We mortgage our future for the present and hope to re-sign Boogie.

    PG - Bledsoe, Crawford, Cook

    SG - Jrue, Moore, Jackson

SF - Hill, Crowder (BAE shooter)

    PF - Davis, Cunningham, Diallo

    C - Boogie, MLE (Olynyk)

    That's a hell of a roster!

Reading Boston fans speculation, they seem pretty unanimous that Crowder probably isnt going anywhere.

He has an incredible contract, the Celtics are not desperate to clear his cap space, and he has been used as a stretch 4 and could continue to do so in Boston next season. Letting Tatum red-shirt and Brown continue to come along slowly.

Have to say it makes sense.

Don't play with my emotions, man...

Even if it means that we won't get Crowder, I'll still do this trade and hope we can sign Swaggy P.

Asik, Ajinca, Q-Pon, and even Moore's contracts are killing us.

I just don't see how Bradley, Smart, Crowder, Hayward, Brown, and Tatum are all going to get minutes on the wing. Seems like at least 2 have to go, and to me, Crowder is more of a 2/3 than a 3/4.

    Do we have the $$. Ajinca -Asik 16 1/2 mill. I believe Bledsoe/Crowder a bit more . 23 millionish.

Bradley is likely gone by the trade deadline. He's a UFA next summer and will draw a lot of attention for obvious reasons. I can see him getting something close to 20m annually, which will be too high for Boston, considering IT's impending raise, along with Hayward's and Horford's contracts. Brown and Tatum are on rookie contracts, so they aren't going anywhere (low value in the short term, full control in the long term) absent a trade for a superstar. Crowder might as well be on a rookie contract given his current contract and fits in well with their concurrent objectives to win now, while building for the future.

If our priority is to win now, then I wouldn't blink twice in giving away our next three years' 1st round picks (until AD's last year) in various trades to land us some solid players while getting rid of Asik + Ajinca's contracts.

Because if AD leaves, then we can always rebuild with that first round pick the following year. Is Lebron James Jr. eligible at that time? LOL.

Only giving away 2 1st rounders. Swapping 2019. Can't give away 2 in a row. Who knows- We might have a better record than Boston At seasons end.

You can't trade first round picks from consecutive years. That's why the 2018 first round pick wasn't available for us to use until after the NBA draft, where the Kings used our 2017 first round pick.

Got it, thanks guys. Swap it then.

Still, my points stands. If we're trying to win now as in within the span from now until 2020, we need to start doing something drastic this off-season. Go get Bledsoe.

It's like the Sixers. Pelicans can't expect to add all the pieces in 1 season to make a championship run. We need to start trading these 1st round picks for solid players while getting rid of Asik + Ajinca's contracts to make a title within the next 3 years.

I just hope that Dell isn't expecting us to win a title next year, but are making the right moves towards winning a title, say 2-3 years from now. That will be the start to our window.

To do that, he needs to get rid of Asik or Ajinca's contracts by trading one of our 1sts and go get Bledsoe, even if it means a 3-team trade. The addition of Lawson and Young will be nice.

After you get Bledsoe and make the playoffs, then the dominoes will start to fall in a good way because Boogie will re-sign. Once he signs his extension, we'll have enough to trade Jrue and assets that same off-season for Wall. So, hopefully Jrue plays like an all-star this year. In hindsight, it was good to sign Jrue. I don't see him as our future, but a valuable asset in a trade for the future.

And yes, I do realize we'd be trading for a 1 year rental in Wall. But, I'd pull the trigger for Wall because you can't honestly tell me he wouldn't re-sign with Boogie, AD, and Bledsoe on our team. Less teams will trade for Wall because of knowing it's an one year-rental. If another team trades for Wall, then we should go after coach Cal. Coach Cal, Boogie, AD, and Bledsoe? Wall will surely come after that 1 year with the team who traded for him.

This is all if assuming Wall doesn't sign his extension with Washington and we make the trade for Bledsoe.

The way the league is going it could be more difficult to win in 2 years no one knows
If Dell doesn't win know he will be gone next year Win Now!
