Do you want more efficient shooters? Of course. But the conversation is about how we space the floor with AD and Cousins. Two 37% 3pt shooters would space the floor the same amount as a 37% and a 40%.

The fact you either cannot comprehend this point or simply refuse to is quite frankly sad.
Why are you acting like making a defender close out is the only important variable in a three point shot? What about the ball actually going in the basket? That's not important for offensive efficiency? You just want ignore that part of the equation? You're right, I don't comprehend this point. Because it's not valid.

Just as this is a silly argument. You either can shoot or you can't. Positional analysis is irrelevant. Mythrol is correct. Jrue shoots 2% higher from three than the average player. That's more than sufficient to demand attention from the perimeter, which in turn, allows AD and Cousins to operate with more space.

Edit: LOL, I just realized this is the same poster that was making that argument too: http://www.pelicansreport.com/showth...07#post1401607 (Page 5 and 6)

    Some people don't learn.
No wonder this board stays on Macnamara jock so hard, you guys are a pretty pathetic bunch. You actually believe that shooting guards aren't supposed to be better at shooting than the average NBA player. LOL. I mean..... LOL

You are trying to change the argument to save yourself. That'd not what we are discussing here.

We are discussing spacing the floor. We are literally discussing forcing the defender to close out on the shooter. At 37.2% that is 1.116 points per possession. That's more than enough to require the defender to respect the shooter and space the floor for AD and Cousins.

Positional ranking and all the other stuff you are trying to hide behind is 100% irrelevant to the simple fact that at 37.2% Jrue is more than adequate enough for spacing the floor. If we added another 37% shooter it would be the same as a 40% shooter for creating space for AD and Cousins to work in.

Is Jrue guarded any differently than a 40% shooter would be? Of course not. Both demand a defender. This spaces the floor. The end.

Exactly, thats why I brought up Lillard. Who by your standards (hornetsrebirth) is an "average" shooter because he is a PG shooting 36.9%..... BUT you put him next to Jrue as our starting PG, you absolutely have to respect both his and Jrue's shooting, which creates spacing.

LOL you're right!! Being rational is really pathetic I mean LOL!!

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

The point about Lillard was brilliant. I didn't realize Jrue was shooting better than him from 3. In no world would a back court of Lillard and Jrue not create enough space for Cousins and AD to work. It's just silly to argue that you "need" a 40%+ 3pt shooter. That would be nice but to create space you just need above average guys, not elite snipers.
