Ish Smith, Jimmertime. I don't recall people ever agreeing on this!

I'm excited about D-mo. He should be a really nice fit next to Davis. I especially like his passing ability. There are quite a few lobs to D Howard in his highlights. Nothing nicer than a big throwing lobs to another big!

If Motiejunas stays healthy this will be the biggest steal we will ever see from the Pelicans GM.

He is perfect for gentry's system. This guy is incredibly skilled with great shooting and passing.
He's not the best rebounder but he's decent.

I would put him out there with Tyreke, Gallo, Moore, and Jones...

He would be a total nightmare for other teams because of his ability to stretch the floor. IF he can actually play center and start at center we will be so difficult to face. Every man on the court will be a 3 point threat.

If D-Mo can stay healthy he's a big addition for any team. Everyone is talking about how he'll backup AD but in fact he can play either PF or C ( he did play very well at the C when Howard went down and it was his breakout year ) I can see them making a great tandem together both switching between PF or C since AD can do this aswell. Speaking of D-Mo's abilities he's a versatile big man. He can certainly stretch the floor by shooting the 3 ball, especially from corners, he's a great passer for a big dude and just has a great basketball IQ but his biggest strenght is the post. Hakeem himself taught him and D-Mo turned out to be his best student by far learning some nice post moves and adjusting some by himself, if healthy he arguably has the best post game in the entire league tbh. This is coming from a Lithuanian fan, I've just registered here but I hope he can finally come back and finish off this season maybe helping the Pels reach the playoffs ? Who knows. But I'm excited to see how this turns out haha, will be rooting for NOLA for sure. I think if he fits in well and plays well the Pels should sign a new deal with him instead of trading, unless they get a star in return. But he's a team first and chemistry player, really valuable piece, yet again if healthy. The Nets wouldn't have offered him 37mil if he's done, as far as I know he passed the Nets medical, so he should be alright now. Hopefully he can maintain it.

If you haven't seen D-Mo's game yet, here are his best season highlights ( most of them are roasting guys in the post ) he got his nickname "Captain Hook" for a reason:

Ryan Anderson for a max contract.

Or Donatas Motiejūnas on a vetern minimum contract?

How in all that is good and crunk is that a choice?

You're kidding right? If Anderson would have signed for league minimum, yes. However, not a chance for $80 million.

Either he plays well enough to earn minutes or never puts it together. Doesn't matter, it doesn't hurt us in any way. If we in the future need the roster spot he's on the minimum so you just cut him.
    Right

    This has zero negative impact

Agree however the contract price was a little high. Eric Gordon's contract left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. What is even more numbing is that both have played every game this year so far for the Rockets.

Terrence Jones 2.0 . If he has a season anything like Jones I'll be very happy. Honestly kind of feels like that playoff season we had, get a couple of pick ups, suddenly we vault into the 8th seed. If only Pondexter was healthy

What annoys me though is the 15 million per tied up in the AA brothers for the next 3 years. It's like what was Dealer Demps thinking! He essentially took the max money he got from Gordon and somehow turned it into an even WORSE lot of contracts. It's as if he likes to play with a $15 mil handicap in comparison with the rest of the league.

I think dummy dell finally realized that the 2 centers he signed can't play in gen try's system. If D Mo is healthy could be an asset.

If Dmo turns out similarly to Jones in his impact then we did well. Between these two and Lance Stephenson, we did remarkably well with just the minimum thus year. All three are probably better than Hill, to be quite frank.

Houston could have said this for gordon and anderson....

Hill seems like a sharp guy and a good teammate, but he has a lot to prove when it comes to being someone worthy of anywhere near what he is being paid...

But our training staff is so vaguely bad at being a training staff, that once you aren't being trained by them, your body just doesn't get hurt anymore.

TBF our health has looked a lot better this season and it seems that unlike at times with the Monty regime, everyone on the coaching staff seems to be on the same page with training and medical staff and no one is pulling a Q-pon.

Also I have always felt that being a talented team indirectly helps with player health because you aren't getting bodied as much, are more in synch defensively and getting better opportunities offensively. Which might partially speak for why Gordon and Anderson are staying healthy in Houston.

I'm really excited for this team now. Gentry is humble and is adjusting the lineups so the team can win. I think we are going to make the playoffs if we beat playoff teams this January. I also think having Reke and Cunningham back is helping a lot. I also think that putting buddy in the starting lineup helped a lot. I also think that if we get a healthy d-mo we will be a pretty good team because they will only get better adding d-mo, Reke and healthy Cunningham. I think this month will reveal a lot about this team.

I'm a little confused. Isn't Montiejunas, like, a real player? How is he so available at this price? He's a skilled 7-footer with a post game and legit three-point range. How are we getting him?
