Yes. Comprehension. How you lack it is astounding. He says, "through our sources with TBW". That does not mean he is claiming TBW as a source or any other fan blog. He is saying through sources that TBW has.

You are stretching so hard to try and make this point that no one has sources claiming this but that is very clearly exactly what Fisher is saying.

I see some are still arguing about Tyreke? Last time I checked, he is still on this team. I just don't see any benefit in dumping or stretching Tyreke, especially with the way Buddy has looked in the first half of these summer league games lol. That would be a dumb move to make for a team that had huge injury concerns last season. I can't believe a fan would want to get rid of a potential 15/5/5 guy that can play 3 positions for a team that struggled with depth last year. With the way Buddy has struggled thus far, he may be better coming off the bench as a rookie. He needs to earn that starting spot and he should be out E'twaun Moore with a hand tied behind his back. I much rather Tyreke and him battle for the starting 2 guard spot! I sure hope they just don't give it to him, he struggle early and lose confidence early in the season.

Are you seriously trying to project Buddy's rookie season based on summer league? Can't be.

    He's just too short huh?

If a source tells you don't report anything, you certainly don't go on twitter and infer it. I think people are drawing conclusions that are fine to draw, but then stating them as fact.

I think Dell signed everyone he has hoped to sign in free agency, given the craziness of the market, and the stated goals to get hard working players and get better defensively. I believe knowing teams would have a lot of cap space, Dell has shopped Tyreke because he is potentially a very productive player on a now relatively discounted contract, especially for teams that want to remain flexible for 2017. Dell probably did not find the value he hoped to find, and therefor Tyreke is still on the roster. I don't believe for a second that Dell was ever going to dump Tyreke in order to retain Babbitt and Douglas.

I think players that are coming off of surgeries and aren't currently healthy get traded, so the idea that Tyreke is damaged goods seems like it's probably not true if he's still on track for training camp. See Teague, Jeff -recently traded for a 1st round pick coming off of knee surgery and still not cleared to play.

I think (because this is what Dell said 2 years ago) that Dell invisions Tyreke playing SF for significant minutes. If that is the case, especially considering QPon is coming off of injury, and Hill is expected to log some minutes as a small ball 4, I believe there is a perfect Tyreke Evans size hole at the SF position at the beginning of the season. If you view Reke as a SF, the guard depth doesn't effect him. Dell has said he views Reke as a SF.

These are all just my opinions. Speculation based off of what Dell has actually said publicly in the past, what we know about Dell being willing to dump an asset for nothing, and what reporters have actually tweeted.

If I had to bet all my money, I'd ask my wife first, then bet on Dell not trying to dump Tyreke for pennies on the dollar. That is antithetical to what we know about Dell. Is it possible? Hell yes! But again, until it's reported or it happens, it's just speculation!

And I also think, again, that 25 games is too small a sample size to believe that Gentry believes he can't make it work with Tyreke, at least in the short term. I think it's likely they move him at some point this season if for no other reason than he is expiring and they won't bring him back. But I think he will either be moved for something of value (we can debate the value of 2nd round picks) or he will be allowed to play out the season and expire.
While I disagree with your conclusion, I don't think you're being entirely unreasonable and hope that you're right because I really like what Reke can do.

I think most are not arguing over what they would do as much as what Dell is/has done. I think Dell has looked to try and get rid of him but that doesn't mean that is what I would do, necessarily.

Would love for Fisher to clarify.

All offseason David and the Bird Writes has written about offseason possibilities, frequently discussing the possibility of trading Tyreke for cap space. He's even tweeted about various scenarios involving trading Tryreke to create cap space. As recently as 4 days ago, this has been the narrative they've been driving. If a Pelicans source has told David/TBW that Tyreke is untradeable and they've considered stretching him… what the hell have they been talking about the past few weeks?! There isn't a single blog on that site or a tweet from David saying Tyreke has no value and is untradeable according to sources or even according to word on the street.

Literally everything I can find online, traces back to speculation on twitter from people with sources who were very careful not to cite sources and to try and tell everyone that their thoughts were only a guess.

So if my comprehension is off, I'd certainly love to be pointed in the direction of a clarification and will happily concede this point! As long as it remains a FACT that there is literally no one with established connections (i.e. a beat reporter like Dawson or Kush; someone who has broken news previously) within the Pelicans doing anything other than speculating about Dell attempting to dump Tyreke for no return and being unable to, I will NEVER CONCEDE!!!!! NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enough already. Stop trying to split hairs. Whether they tried to dump him for nothing is irrelevant. I think both of you agree they tried to trade him and were unsuccessful. Agree on that and move on. This has dominated the thread and any discussion for long enough.

    Diallo has potential

Worried a little about buddy, only because we need him to be better to win.

That's reading way into his words. Just said he's been through it. Could mean he's finished or he's still recovering. Either way, no way to gleam some kind of a timetable.

I'm not saying my interpretation is gospel but the tone of his voice, which I reminded to hear again, was a notable shift from the question before.

It is merely an observation, nothing I am taking as much more then "yeah, I noticed that, hmm."

You don't need to read into anyone. Just look at the moves we've made:

    Drafted Hield
    Signed Hill
    Signed Moore
    Signed Galloway
    Re-signed Frazier

    Depth Chart:
    Jrue/Reke/Galloway/Frazier
    Buddy/Reke/Moore
    Hill/Reke/QPon/Cunningham?

Reke is totally expendable due to the signings we've made. Hes better individually than anyone we've signed, but how sour is Gentry really with his playstyle?

I think it all points to Reke being shopped, hence the rumblings around the media. But the only thing that will really help us and make sense is getting a starting C in return.

Dell wants Tyreke to play small forward. Signing a bunch of guards allows Tyreke to focus there and not have to play PG when/if injuries happen.

Tyreke doesn't want to play SF, and we just signed Hill to 10mil per year. Why sign Hill when QPon is serviceable as a backup SF and only 3mil of cap?

    Still doesn't make sense.

Dell is on record saying he invisions Tyreke playing SF.

QPon is coming off of injuries.

Many people say Hill would be best at small ball 4.

Tyreke could also be in worse shape than was last reported and never play basketball again. Also possible.

Hill signing was a no-brainier. Reke and QPon or both coming off injuries, we need healthy guys. Reke and QPon or both SG who can swing depending on match-up. Solo can guard 3 positions well. Also, he has no health issues....

Dell envisioned Gordon as a cornerstone. Dell envisioned Ryno-AD as a lethal combo. You have to accept, as Dell has, that Dell no longer has those visions and is trying to move on. Tyreke is gone as soon as the doctor clears him.

When did Dell say that? When we signed Reke? That experiment failed.

Hill is a small ball 4 situationally at best, and if all we wanted was insurance for QPon then Ennis for 6mil a year cheaper than Hill would have sufficed.

The direction is pretty clear, Reke isn't in a long term plan, the only missing piece is the stretch big. We're tryna find a trade partner.

Happy to be wrong, but that's the most obvious direction.

Agree that Tyreke isn't in the long term plan, but I expect him to be on the roster this season and if he's healthy he'll play.

This team has been so ravaged by injuries in the backcourt that we've never had the opportunity to see Tyreke in the role Dell invisioned. After Tyreke's first year, Dell said he'd like to see him play SF.

Given our roster construction, if Tyreke is healthy, the logical place he'll get minutes is small forward. Long term Dell will either trade him for an asset or let him expire and move on.

Dell is a much better GM now than 3 to 4 years ago.

I think everybody can make an assumption that Dell has discussed stretching Reke and every ther option he has with him. That's his job and I would be upset if he didn't discuss every available option to try and make this team better as he should do with every player that doesn't have the initials AD. This still has not been reported anywhere but just talked about assuming like we most do. I think we are trying to trade him as well but there has been nothing to back that up that I have seen.
