    Jaylen Brown season highlights
This kid is the pick for us. He's going to be a superstar and fits Gentrys system perfectly while filling a huge need. Has as much potential as any player in this draft. If you actually really look into him instead of hearing what someone said they didn't like I believe you will come away really wanting this kid. With his coaches and older teammates raving about his hard work and basketball IQ he has taken another step up in my book. What you need from a kid like this is hard work and if he's willing to we could have the next Leonard/Butler SG/SF to take this team to the next level. Now I'm just going to be disappointed if we don't take this kid if he's available for our picks outside the top 2.

When evaluating Brown people need to take into account how terrible their coach was. Not only was the coach bad he runs the exact opposite offense to show case Browns ability. Cal had the 217th slowest pace in the country with 2 explosive NBA lottery picks is a joke. Put Brown in Gentrys up tempo offense and the kid could explode. If he was on a team with pace it's likely he averages 20 ppg already averaging 15 ppg. The offense did not take advantage of fast breaks while it ran the clock all the way down on nearly every possession. Another thing is he was surrounded by nothing but poor shooters. Teams were able to clog the lane with 3 players at all times having absolutely no floor spacing which is not good for Browns skill set. When you dig into things like this it should completely change how you see Brown. He had just about everything possible going against his game while still having a very solid freshman year. No telling how good his year could have been actually being in a system that suited him along with some players that compliment his skill set. Once knowing his situation I don't know how he can't be 3rd on your board.

Yeah the more and more I watch Brown I think he will be a great fit in Gentry's system.

I just hope we stay in the top 6 because any of Ingram, Simmons, Heild, Murray, Dunn and Brown I will be very happy.

Then add a SF or SG FA depending on who we pick in the draft and this team will be bloody good to watch.

Holiday, Frazier, Evans, BDJ, Ennis, Q-Pon, Davis, Cunningham, Babbitt, Asik, Ajinca, 1st pick, FA and 2nd rounder (I think 39 & 40 will be packaged for 1 2nd).

Which team do ppl think would be interested in taking picks 39 and 40 for one pick around the mid 30's?

Do we need to add a player?
    Ajinca, picks 39 & 40 for pick 24-32?

If we sign a starter SF in FA then QPon and Ennis will be good enough back ups (unless you see QPon as a 2).

    RealGM doesn't like Brown much

With multiple mock drafts putting him in Denver's range, I've been trying to read about more about him and I really am not finding anything impressive.

At this point, his draft stocks is based on almost all potential right now due to his physical attributes.

    But otherwise:
    - Poor feel for the game.
    - No outside/FT shooting.
    - GOOD at getting to the basket, POOR at finishing.
    - Below average defender but has potential to be a very good defender.

Anyhow someone help me find something good about him.
Yep with everything you said. Even though he has a poor feel for the game, he makes a few good passes. His biggest attributes are his size (could potentially guard 4 positions) and his athleticism (that is overrated). The thing people love about him is his ability to get to the basket since not a lot of guys his size can do that and most of those guys become good players. The issue is his free throw shooting/shooting in general, which everyone is always iffy about because it really depends on how strong his muscle memory is and how adaptable he is (these are hard things to measure).
I personally see bust written all over him offensively, but his defense should keep him in games and give himself the opportunity to improve. I think he's going to be at least a solid player. If I were picking and this were a deeper draft, he would be picked after the lotto.

really don't see a trade picks of 2 second rounders for higher one. maybe if we will include 2017 Philly pick...
    With Ajinca
According to Bobby Marks: Teams in need of a backup center: Boston, Brooklyn, Cleveland, Dallas, Golden State, Houston, Indiana, L.A. Clippers, L.A. Lakers, Miami, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Toronto and Washington.

I have a deal - 27th pick of TOR for Ajinca and one 2nd rounder. He played well vs. TOR in the past.
or the same with Phila and 26th pick (still don't believe it)
WAS, POR, OKC, NYK, MIA, CLE all don't have any picks in draft.

I will do one second rounder for Anthony Morrow

In Ish Smith's trade we have received two second rounders ----> Denver's 2016 and Philly's 2017
    Second rounders

I know some people hate comparisons, but for some reason Brown reminds me of Desmond Mason for those that remember having him. That's not really a good thing.

    Who?

Am i the only one who gets too nervous too the point where you have to pause (dvr) or walk away on the lottery night when picks are dicsussed? I feel a sense of vomiting with anticipation of knowing which logo will be revealed in the envelope. I always eat after or two hours earlier before lottery night. When we won AD, i literally ran around the house and almost cried lol. Good times on the Hornetsreport board.

    Yes I was thinking Toronto.
Reduces our salary by trading Ajinca.
With the 27th pick we can draft AJ Hammmons or Prince

I don't want Brown either there is about ten guys I would take before even considering him. Just my opinion

I don't want to move Ajinca. A decent big on a long-term contract that is reasonable is worth more than a pick that can be bought for 1.5m.

We reduce our salary but then have a pretty big hole at C and need to start searching again.

I don't know about Brown, but the Cal pg Wallace could be a good get in the 2nd round (if he is still available). He wasn't the lottery pick like Rabb or Brown, but when they lost him, they were a quick out. He is 6'5 and plays both the 1/2. Like I said, he would be a good 2nd round pick.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

So I geuss Heild's stock has went up. According to this http://www.tankathon.com/mock_draft he's going before the 6th. Looks less likely that he'll be a Pelican next year . I'm gonna be bumbed if we pick 6th and he aint there.

I remember they were pretty accurate last year too.

Yes they were my sleeper final 4 team until he went down. Then I picked them to lose in the first round after that happened lol. The only way I would be cool with Brown is if Dunn, Hield, and Murray are gone. But if Bender is there that would be a tough pick. I just hope we have a shot at my top 5 guys!! Please!!

Why wouldn't you take Brown? Outside of the top 2 players he is our best chance at landing a super star. He an improved shot away from being dominant. He was in a system that ranked 217th in pace which basically does not take advantage of his skill set at all. Only time he was able to get out and run was when he rebounded the ball to get on a fast break. Also did not have one good shooter on the team with him to open the lane up. When you consider everything that was going on he had a great season for a freshman. Shot 75% at the rim which is very good. I just don't see how any other player we can take doesn't have the same amount of concerns if not more. We need to develop a player just like Curry, Klay, Draymond, Leonard, and many others have been with Brown being the best player to do that with. Just look at Lavine who couldn't shoot and he's knocking down 40% from 3. Brown is basically the same player at the SF position just much stronger and even more talented. If people like Dunn I don't see how you can't like Brown.
