Thread: Draft Prospects Discussion

    - I'm sold on drafting Bender with our 1st pick.

    - And two of Hammons, LeVert, Payton II, Layman, Finney-Smith, Bentil, Gbinije, or Ellis with our 2nds.

    **Ellis reminds me of Battier**

Gbinjie is really impressing and seems well rounded. Like a luwawu we could get much later in the draft. Less athletic though than luwawu.

I think his performance in the tournament may have pushed him up out of our reach.

Heild does not have to become some great passer but just know how to move the ball and feed AD which I don't see being a problem at all. The only things I think he needs to work on to be great is his defense and getting to the rim. He has so many good traits and just fits so well here IMO. If we can get a top 5 pick in this draft I feel very comfortable getting Heild. Would love one of Simmons/Ingram but Heild is the next prize in this draft IMO. He has done nothing make me more and more of a believer in his game.
He gets to the rim frequently. That's not been an issue for him, but something he's improved upon every year.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

I'd be happy drafting Hield but I would also be happy if he goes ahead of us, because that will push someone down.

I got a feeling we end up with either hield or brown.

  8. #708
I really hope we grab a small forward over anything Ben, Ingram, Brown, or Luwawu.

    Jaylen Brown.

I can already imagine having to douse some flames on his behalf...

Hield is on that DWade crash course to the draft (start the year as a mid first pick, end it as a top 5). Good for him.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

My guess at the Pels board:
    Simmons
    Ingram
    Dunn
    Rabb
    Brown

My guess is that the Pels resign EG. Hield is basically Gordon.

Why do people like Rabb? I don't see it.

Faaaaar from it. Gordon is an injury-prone player, who at this stage in his career, can do nothing but make threes. Hield still has tons of potential, and appears to be not only perhaps a better shooter, but also is far better at creating his own shot than Gordon is, and also has more potential on defense. Gordon is pretty much an injury prone Anthony Morrow, who knows what Hield could yet turn out to be. At any rate, Dunn bears a far greater resemblance to Jrue than Hield does to Gordon.
Hey @okcthunder - you guys suck! Our top players are hurt. Some are dead. Some don't even like basketball. And we still kicked y'all's asses!- @TheFakeMonty

I think Heild's floor is Eric Gordon.

    Same, minus, hopefully, the injuries.

So Heild floor is 16/2/3 on 46/38/85??? If that's the case we're looking at the next MJ because floor is the worst possible outcome. I think those are actually the numbers he will put up in his career. With better shooting.

Yeah, that is my opinion on him. And I'm not sure what you said even makes sense. Having a high floor doesn't mean he's MJ. It means his skills will translate to at least what EG is in my opinion. EG is nothing special.

A dead eye 3 point shooter who can semi create off the dribble undersized SG with a good wing span, that sounds sooooooo familiar to guy everyone wants to draft.

    Again, "floor."

Numbers aren't everything. If you have ever watched EG you know that those don't even come close to telling the whole story.

Eric has a high bbiq. He fits the Gentry's system. He is unselfish, not ball dominant, and is a willing passer. He creates his shoot; a good three point shooter, spaces the defense and is very efficient as a scorer. He is a good decision maker and handles the ball during crunch time.
On defense, he keeps his man in front of him. Gordon is
a well rounded player. He is community oriented.
    His weakness is injuries.
Unfortunately there's tons of group thinking on this board about Gordon.

A floor is the worst possible out come thats a extremely high floor. His floor is Anthony Morrow.
