Principled leader that I'm proud to support.
The worst part of this is the glimpse of Jeff Bower. I try to forget him....
Man that last line " I wanna do everything I can until they drag me out of my office, this is where I wanna bring a championship" just damn
If I had a son, I would want him to play for Monty Williams. If I owned the Pelicans, I'd say he's not there yet. But I think/hope he can get there. After a few years, a player is what he is, but a coach can keep developing I think. Doc Rivers was almost fired by the Celts and is now a top coach (but a lousy GM...) Maybe Monty doesn't get any better, but he's definitely going to work hard at trying to get better. He may not get there here, and he may not get there at all, but when you see stuff like this it really makes me root for him
This is nice and all but Monty still sucks as a head coach. Great person absolutely but you definitely need more to be a successful coach. Mark Jackson is a great person but look at the difference having Steve Kerr has made. I want him to be successful but history tells us that trash players make better coaches because they were there to see the mistakes from the bench. Give me a Kerr anyday.
I'm a grinder

Almost makes me like Monty, almost.
I should have rephrased that to pgs who don't play much. They seem to see the game better than most. Coach beastly made me lol though. Monty was a decent player. Kerr was a specialist. But you have to be honest that monty sucks. I want an x and o nerd for a coach.
You should fear Beasley rubbing on your knee
How many episodes aired so far? Just 1?
I think where Monty is coming from is easily relatable to little league sports growing up. I remember winning the basketball championship in 5th grade and quitting that next year because the coach made us miserable.
Victory is just that much sweeter if you are winning for the people around you and not just yourself.
After watching this are some people still going to say Monty made no development on AD's career?
Too funny. Its as if the Warriors sucked under Mark Jackson and Kerr took over a train-wreck roster. What most forget is that Goden St won 51 games last year. Their 2 best players played on the FIBA team over the summer and got even better... so now Kerr inherits a 50-win team with his 2 best players coming back better than ever. EVERY player on that FIBA team is playing lights-out this season.
I'm not taking anything away from Kerr, but I'm not gonna make him out to be the best coach in the league either.
Some of y'all need to curb your expectations a lil bit. Before the season started many wanted to at least be in position for the 8th seed.... now that we're in that position some of y'all think we're good enough to contend for a title. Slow your roll.
This is a young team that's still learning to play together with some new pieces, and we're still missing our point guard yet we're over .500 in the toughest division in all of basketball. I really think some of y'all root for us to lose just so you'll have something to come here and @@@@@ and moan about at Monty.
Anyone know if they are gonna air more episodes ? All I see is repeats of the first one
Honestly I rooted for Monty for the first 4 years here. I'm just tired of the deer in the headlights look that he has on the floor. My point with Kerr was that mark Jackson had that very talented team and couldn't get over the hump with them and Kerr seems to be capable of doing that. I am in no way cheering for them being that I think the owner was a ****** for the way he dissed Jackson even if it were true. I really wanted monty to succeed but I just don't think he has it in him. No b***hung just truth telling.
You're problem with Monty is how he looks on the sideline?
Steve Kerr hasn't proven anything yet. Has he coached a playoff game? I attribute GSW success this season more to continuity and young players getting better over the summer than Steve Kerr being a coaching savant.
Whether Steve Kerr will find success in the playoffs is yet to be written but lets not dumb down Kerr's achievements.
I think you could make the case that the Warriors would be performing at around the same level defensively under Jackson this year. Offensively? That's where Kerr has really made his stamp. Kerr's offensive system is what has elevated this team to where it is.
- Kerr convinced iggy and Lee to come off the bench- Jackson would've never done that
- He re-tooled the offense to have Bogut initiate with his passing and set picks to free up Curry and Klay - Jackson would've kept Bogut on the low block and put the ball in Curry's hands.
- Installed an offense that emphasizes ball movement
- In identifying Curry's off-ball strength to confuse and disrupt defenses while being an offensive nightmare for defenses it also allowed Klay to better blossom into a well-rounded SG and showcase his talents as a distributor and penetrator
- Identified Barnes' strengths properly and rebuilt him - Jackson expected Barnes to play isoball and when he couldn't he began to bury him on the bench
- Moved Draymond Green into the starting lineup- every advanced statistical measure last year said that the team was better with Green starting as opposed to Lee.
- Better controlled minutes for Curry and others so as not to risk injury due to overuse
- Hired a top tier coaching staff- Ron Adams is responsible for Curry's defensive improvements. Gentry is a great offensive coach. Jackson alienated his top assistants and refused to hire good ones.
And here is a good video breaking down some play by play changes in Kerr's offense from Jackson's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3sC6-f3q9E
Kerr did about as perfect a job coming into his situation as anyone could. He maintained every strength of the team and shored up pretty much every weakness.

Monty has flaws. So does everyone.
Monty may not be the right fit here. Most people aren't.
You go tell Team USA he sucks, then we'll talk. Frankly, you know little about Monty, and you are not alone. I know a thimble more. There for us all is speculation... Some reasonable, some not.
Honesty does not enter into it, and I'll assume that was a mere rhetorical device.
