I guess the answer to this question could be a few things. I say Roberts because I think that is about what he will be for the Pelicans (how Monty will use him). What he could be as an NBA player in an ideal situation with his skill set, I have no idea....Kirk Hinrich maybe ??
It's that the Hornets unashamedly quit so quickly in Game 4 after fans in New Orleans showed up this season with greater regularity than the team could have ever dreamed, shaming misinformed know-it-alls like me who kept telling you that local residents couldn't possibly invest their time and money into something as trivial as rooting for the local basketball team while still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. - Mark Stien ESPN

I really don't know...but I looked thru different free agent signing articles and it was interesting. The articles were filled with so much "Fredette can't do this". There were other players with just as many issues, but the media and everyone else seems to have the green light on pointing out the guys faults. It was almost funny.

The other weird thing was that The Bulls coach recommended him to Monte. That is odd?

I hope he does well just out of spite's sake. Good luck Jimmer.

In all seriousness, a poor man's Anthony Morrow. Elite shooting, with slightly worse defense.

Hinrich played defense. More like a shorter Kyle Korver.

I hope Jimmer has a good season, but if he does, it's Anthony Morrow all over, even worse because Jimmer is younger.

    +1

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

I would go Hin rich comparison. ...Jimmer isn't perfect, but what player is. Jimmer is crafty and shoot. He needs an opportunity to play in the right situations. ..

If he can get back to his prison mentality days I think he will do well.

NCAA Star Jimmer Fredette Went to Prison to Learn to Play Basketball
If nothing else he brings our teams street cred way up.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

FWIW, Jimmer in limited minutes/attempts was near top of the league in efficiency on pull up jumpers. He can get his shot off off the dribble, he is just bad at creating for teammates because he is slow with the ball in his hands.

The unique part of his game that none of his coaches have figured out how to use is his accuracy from extreme long range. He shot 42% from 25 feet and further last year. At the wing and top of the circle that gives you an extra 5 feet of floor spacing for Davis or Evans to operate inside.

I would go with the Mark Price comparison.

For those who want a glass half full look at Jimmer, I suggest listening to the podcast this week. Kings writer had a lot of good things to say

My dream scenario for as moving a player would be trading EG to the 76er's for a J Rich and 2nd rd pick or a protected 1st rounder. Philly has about 23mil in cap space. I'm not sure how much is the minimum salary cap number each team has to spend. I'm more than sure they're nowhere near it. MM could you please enlightened me on this and any other scenario with the 6er's and EG.

The Sixers aren't just going to take salary to get to the floor. And if they do, they will demand assets for taking it. They have no desire to get better, so they would be more interested in adding guys on huge salaries that can not play. For instance, they could take Jason Terry off the hands of Sacramento for a future pick. The Kings are dangerously close to the lux tax and would love to dump him.

The Sixers have plenty of time to get to the floor, and they will use this space to collect assets. We have no assets to give. And I don't think Dell would just dump Gordon even if he had the opportunity. Embrace Eric Gordon for this year. Don't waste your time hoping for anything else other than him in our uniform come opening day.

Don't forget that there is no penalty for failing to reach the floor. The only thing that would happen is the team has to pay the difference between the salary owed and the floor to the players that are on the roster. Since there is no penalty, teams under the floor are going to keep that space open to take on bad contracts for better assets.

It's should be a stiffer penalty for teams like Philly who tank year after year. There fans should boycott and demand a better product on the floor......

Their fans are actually pretty damn happy with how the team has been managed last season and so far this past season.

e: They know they need at least one superstar and they didn't have the assets to trade for one. So, tank away until they get one!
