This is partially what I'm afraid of. While the level of discussion around here has been great the last few years, I fear that to some extent it will revert back without someone like MM who has the knowledge to keep all the rest of us informed and to help keep the ridiculous trade ideas in check.
Plan now for Rockets, sources say, is to complete their Omer Asik trade with New Orleans AND move Jeremy Lin by Sunday

Re: Bosh/HOU: Several league sources say Pelicans considering waiving A. Rivers via stretch provision to complete Asik trade.

Find this hard to believe that no one would trade for him... maybe they spelled Eric Gordon wrong!
I am a total novice when it comes to thoroughly understanding how NBA coaches and GM'?s think and operate.... what I do grasp is that MM provides better information and insight than I could ever have imagined and it makes me is bit nauseous too think people like this are treated so unjustly..... we need the glue to bind us here, and besides that, there is no way he can just up and leave after using the term "nothing" in a cryptic message and not be referring to Gordon.... that's just totally unfair....
"we might make dollars, but we don't necessarily make sense"
"always be sincere....whether you mean it or not"
That's just one of many routes the two teams could take. But NOP hasn't found taker for Rivers yet in trade talks, sources say.

MM...is this bogus? It just makes zero sense to lose Rivers, MLE, and BAE.
Is that just an option we might have to take that a source is speculating on or something we actually are considering?
Lebron is getting PAID by going to Cleveland. Those people and the endorsements that he is going to get is equal to going to New York. He's world wide now, he's resurrected from his one public blemish. Lebron will be the biggest athlete in the world by the season.
He still would've had a better chance in NO, though :P
Wow, we're thinking about stretching Rivers? Lol damn
R.I.P. to HunnyB/FlyGirl
I know Rivers had a rough rookie season, but it's hard to believe he has no value. This would be a complete salary dump.
Only guys I really like there with Lebron are Irving and Varejo, I think they could have signed another all-star in MIA and went on another run.
Pressure is on Irving IMO to see if he can step up in the playoffs, and Wiggins could be a defensive stopper for them, but I think it would be best for his future to get traded to another team where he can develop at a slower pace.
Anyhoo best leave this talk for another thread, 52 pages...
I'd rather keep Rivers and dump a big. I like Rivers a lot.![]()
i like rivers myself i think he will be a good PG for us.
This place is pretty weird i just want to get pelicans news and fan opinions not interested in bloggers ego stroking.
Stretching Rivers really is a worst case scenario. He's a 2yrs removed top 10 pick that they are not only going to dump for nothing but also lose the MLE and BAE in the process.
This is just another way that EG contract has messed up the team and this falls directly on Dell's head. Yes, it's an improvement for the team to get Asik but at what close? I'll wait till all the trade details come out on Sunday. But this news is disheartening if true.
Come on and just stretch Gordon already
