    Game Thread: Jazz @ Pelicans

Same starters as last game. Was really hoping Austin could get the start.

    Austin is still out?

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

Miller did a fine job. I hope he doesn't fade away again tonight not being the primary ball handler. I think he is the type of player who needs to get his dribble going once in awhile, get in a rhythm. Then his catch in shoot will work better IMO.

Would love to see Darius get that same freedom he had last game. This season is lost, Monty needs to see what our guys who are lower on the rotation can do. Austin has been lucky enough this season and last to be allowed to play through his mistakes and we have seen his improvement. I would like to see Darius get that same chance, yes he will make mistakes but he has barely played in the NBA yet, let him play through them.

It's not as if he forces too much, he plays within himself, almost to a detriment. He passes, gives his all on defense and has shown an ability to score on the run-out. I also like that his miss his on-line and long. He rarely misses sideways or short which is usually the sign of a great shooter. With more reps he will learn the little parts of the game and hopefully build confidence.

"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin
