Thread: Official Fire Monty Thread

  1. #1026
If our front office is so set on not firing Monty here is what I propose.

We allow Monty to sit at home and watch the games with his family. Why do you ask???

Well it saves the team some money in travel fees, Monty can spend time with his kids and it would have no negative affect on the team. The team can work off something similar to a workplace roster. E.g. at four minutes left in the first Steamer in for Ajinca etc etc. It's essentially no different to what is happening right now.

What about time-outs? We can randomly select a fan for the night to choose when to use them, as I am certain they would do a better job than currently done. Currently we see timeouts when 1) we are on a run 2) we have just had 14-0 put on us.

Half-time adjustments? Well we currently don't make any so it would be no different.

Standing up for your players by taking a tech when the refereeing is appalling? Again it currently isn't being done so not an issue, maybe we could slip a security guard 5 bucks to start??

... or we could just fire him

Something has to give or there will be no season ticket base come next season. It's to a point now where management is insulting the fans intelligence by leaving this clown in charge of what we are watching on the court. Unfortunately We were all fooled that Monty was going to be a good up and coming coach but now that I look back at the end of the season before we got AD we had a group of guys who over achieved on the court and that translated into Monty being the next great young coach but as we have learned it was all a mirage.

have we come out with a different lineup to start the second half once this year? evans & gordon need to play more together. it's not like gordon hurts evans spacing - he's shown he's been just as good a spot up guy as anyone on our roster this year.

I planned this morning that I wanted to take the #1000 but I missed that

Give it 2 weeks and you can be #2000.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Monty is terrible at all head coaching activities, he even sucks at interviewing. Head is always down, No eye contact, shoulders shrugged. Trivial? Maybe. But he is noticeably worse than most.

He hates doing interviews with a passion. Not his thing

I know some of you guys want our players to play 48 straight minutes but they are human ya know and you can't turn "fatigue" off like 2K.

I actually saw somebody complain that Monty took Reke out (in the 2nd quarter) and Reke had logged 14 straight (14 STRAIGHT) minutes.

    Amazing.

The funny thing about Monty is while you can tell he hates giving interviews, I usually enjoy hearing him talk. He's got a great head on him. Unfortunately he's probably better suited to being the second best coach on a championship contending team

He was absolutely exhausted when he came out. Immediately put a compress on his ribs too.

How's he going to reach his per48 (or even per36) potential if he rests?

I mean do you think Monty will really get fired? What's the point of this thread if its not even likely that he would get cut?

I just can't see him getting fired anytime soon. We can loose by 60 and he will still be here.

No, when we lose it's Monty's fault. When we win it's Monty's fault.

    What's his career record?

Thats why he needs to be fired.

Okay...people always throw out his career record but I thought we all knew the last two seasons were rebuilding years with not very talented rosters. And even Buzzman, the most anti-Monty poster here, admitted how media, fans, etc. were so excited about Monty because of how well we competed in those two years.

With his most talented rosters, this year and his first season, his record is probably near .500. Still not great, but respectable.

I wonder if Larry brown would have any interest in coming here and getting back in the nba? That'd be a true dream come true. Doubt it tho but man if it came to finding a new coach. I'd hope they'd exhaust all options.

Why are people so convinced Benson is married to Monty?

I would think Benson more then anyone knows the value of having the right head coach in place to catapult your franchise into relevancy and thus deep into the black on your balance sheets. And the pitfalls of staying with guys that just aren't working and how that can hurt your brand.

Benson was ready to up and move to greener pastures before the NFL stepped in and has subsequently done a complete 180 once he saw what happened when Payton started winning and the Saints began to make Benson money hand over fist.

I cant imagine his calculation when purchasing the pelicans was to have a money sink. He wants to win and win soon so he can start building this franchise into another successful business. Of course I don't know him personally but you have to think the guy knows the pivotal value of having an elite head coach in achieving that.

I'd actually be shocked if Monty is here more then one more season.

So why did he agree to extend his contract then?
