I will never understand the **** poor clap trap that masquerades as analysis from some people.
. A player's effect on a game is far more than just points scored or the relative of the next to you is.

There are 2 ends of the court, matchups, and alternatives to consider.

A close game and thr Pelicans close it out strongly, and still the empty rhetoric fueled by either agendas or the inability to say "Oops."

Again, plenty to criticize in every game, but that does not meam every single semi-thought is a valid criticism.

Complain about the fast break not improving in 20+ games. Complain about the fouls. The matchups, as a whole, were fine.

You can go to NBA.com/stats and go to the game boxscore and look up each of Ryno's fouls on video.

All 5. Cousins was 6/9 from the free throw line. Thomas was 1/1 (on a technical on Anderson after Anderson was called for a foul). Cousins also made one FGA after being fouled.

So Anderson's five fouls led to 9 points (1/1 FG & 7/10 FT)

We dont defend from deep and everyone kills Monty. Now, Monty basically begs Cousins to beat us on his own, while defending the line, and people hate that.

He can't win. Thankfully, I dont think he cares what any of us think.
It's progress if we forgoe doubling the post. Portland's defense was basically remade by that concept.

Yeah, Ryno on him AND constant doubling would have drove me crazy. But with an offense as prolific as ours, we can give up a little less than 1 point per possession against a guy like Cousins and win a game easily. It is the barrage of three's that normally kill us

We won on the road by 13 points.

What we did last night worked.

Just realized this is almost word for word what NMThreeMVP posted. I agree!

Although I do agree with Monty's strategy, I dont agree with this philosophy.

We shouldnt just criticize when we lose and applaud when we win. Good things happen in losses, bad things happen in wins

Win or lose, Monty still doesn't deserve to be a head coach in the NBA. It's time to cut our ties with him as soon as the season ends and find ourselves someone else to coach this team. Our team will never go anywhere with this coaching staff in place.

I agree, especially when games are close. But in a game where the MOV was this large, it's clear the general strategy was effective. Obviously there were flaws (shots missed that should have gone in, dumb turnovers and fouls, etc.), but again, when you win by 13 (at ~1 PPP, we won by about 13 possessions), you had the right game plan.

the 24 points on 27 possessions is a little misleading since Cousins was credited with 3 missed tip-ins on a missed foul shot in the 2nd half, and that really shouldn't be factored into the equation....but still, it was the right move by monty

But the game was close, save for a 20-5 run that blew it open late. And the irony is that both guys were on the bench for a large part of it because they each had 5 fouls.

I personally hated the way the team played last night. I thought they played far better in a loss at Portland. But my problems were more with the players last night than the strategy. My biggest gripe was not giving Jrue 40+ minutes once we knew Gordon was out. He is a young guy and you dont have a game until Friday. You gotta make sure you win that one. Only thing I would have done different.

I said this all game they balled so bad, it seem like they were uninterested in the game and that is bad when u just lost 4 in a row.

Not surprising yo usee some people a little worn down and disinterested. Christmas Eve Eve, and it was a long road trip.

Michael Malone rips Kings after loss

Malone said the Kings were a "bad basketball team" after the 113-100 loss, the Kings' fourth in their past five games.

"How many times do you have to hit rock bottom? Look at our record, we've hit rock bottom four or five times now," Malone told reporters.

"Maybe some of these guys are so used to losing that they're accustomed to it. I'm not. I'm not used to losing. I'm used to being in the playoffs, being a competitive team that takes pride in its defense. Right now we don't have a lot of guys to do that. I'm not sure what their rock bottom is, but I hit my rock bottom about one week into the season."

Rant Does Monty Williams even coach this team.. seriously?

I don't understand, we run the worst offensive sets i've seen any team run, my highschool team runs better plays sometimes. Our defense is absolutely horrible, we don't box out, Jan Vesely is having a career game against our bigs, in all seriousness does Monty even coach or does he tell these guys to do whatever they want on the court because thats what it looks like.. seriously and you guys say his a good young coach.. smh.

And then people say we are a young team, how did OKC make the playoffs back when Durant and Westbrook were even younger than most of our youngsters, and how are Suns dominating the west?

IDC if you delete this post or say i'm stupid and inpatient, but down 17 at half against the Wizards, and up against Pacers and Heat by large margins and then getting absolutely destroyed and embarrassed, i think i have a point.
This is a wasteful season, no pick, barley any improvement, lineup issues and two talented Shooting guards on one team coached by Monty who is about as pathetic as Jason Kidd..

Is it the coach's fault for everything? Damm!

They turn the ball over... fire Monty.
They blow defensive assignments... fire Monty.
    They miss layups... fire Monty.
Washington is making every shot that take regardless of how contested the shots are... fire Monty.

We're just not a good team man. We have a bunch of good players but that doesn't constitute a team. you can fire Monty and bring in Phil Jackson circa '91 and it won't matter. We're just not good.

That is just depressing. At least if we can blame it on one guy who we can theoretically fire and replace, we have hope.

    Keep hope alive, man!

There is so much wrong with this team right now. And Monty is part of it. But firing him isn't fixing that much.

Give him the season, if it doesn't improve, then fire him. I got no problem with that. But that won't fix everything. I read all the time that we don't play to our talent level. I think some think too much of our "talent level" right now to be honest.

  21. #521
I just wanted to rehash this topic. Tonight's game, is case and point of why either he, or his system don't work with the players we have.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Unfortunately, however, it is looking more and more that he is not the answer at coach. After the season, it is probably best to try to find an answer.

  25. #525
Agree. But gotta fix some roster issues too. Need some depth and guys with differing skill sets. Gotta decide who AD is and build around that. Give the coach a clear direction
