Thread: Pelicans to meet with Tyreke Evans (offer has been made)

    My plan B?

Trade Lopez to Charlotte for Gerald Henderson
Trade Vasquez to Denver for Chandler if they resign Iggy
    Sign Dalembert with room exception

    What's yours?

I's be happy with Chandler but are we for sure he would have to be the odd man out if Iggy re signs?

Chandler is the one who duplicates a lot of the skill sets at a high price. Remember, they also have Fournier, and young guys they like in Quincy Miller and Jordan Hamilton on really cheap contracts

I would love to acquire Chandler. Brings nice defense and decent perimeter shooting. He's also young and on a longer contract. I see him as a young, very poor man's Iggy.

Who do you think Connelly values more--Chandler or Gallinari? Who are they likelier to part with?

Package a trade w/ Lopez in it for Asik ! (presuming Howard signs with Rockets) ! Sign Dorel Wright !

I cant see Houston paying 8 million a year for a 15 minute man !

    Jrue
    EGO
    Wright
    AD
    Asik

I'd love to have chandler whether or not we get Reke or not.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

I think Tyreke is the right insurance policy for Gordon, Im happy to buy into the 3 guard rotation of Holiday / Gordon / Reke with Rivers getting some burn now and then. But major concern is over bulking up the frontline. You need to win the rebounds to win the game in the NBA more often than not. On bad shooting nights u need the offensive boards to keep u going. I hope Demps has an ace up his sleeve on the cheap bigs front coz we will need it to get over the hump.

Tyreke is a really surprising target IMO, but definitely a high chance to not be matched and is a guy with a hell of a lot of talent. Can't fault Demps on that.

Houston's plan is to make Asik part of a S&T package for Josh Smith if they get Dwight

Just keep Lopez and trade for Chandler. Zero reason to trade your starting center for Gerald Henderson, as much as I know you're fascinated by him.

Weren't the Heat one of the worst rebounding teams in the league last year? The Spurs weren't so hot at it either, iirc.

I think he increases his trade offer to Kings, possibly increases his offer to Evans. I'd go as high as $13m for Evans. To me he's got as much potential and talent as Gordon, only he's reliable.

If that fails I think he considers OJ Mayo next. OJ's only 25 and could be had for $10m or less probably.

I'm stuck on my belief that we're trading Gordon, possibly for Deng or cap space to sign Iggy, so I think his primary target is still SG.

Another name to consider if Dells goal is to get a super sub off the bench who can score in bunches- Monta Ellis.

Grab him and a SF like Brewer or Dorrell Wright for similar money to Tyreke

It's not me as much as I see the writing on the wall for Dell. He wants a super sub off the bench who can play multiple positions. Willing to sacrifice Lopez and play smaller too

I'd take Ellis off the bench in a heartbeat. He will probably come cheaper than Evans.

Until Dell comes out and says he went after a 23 year old SG with a $44-48m offer to be a super sub, when we already have Rivers, GV, and Ryno on bench, I won't believe it. It's less logical/likely than him going after Tyreke to replace Gordon, who was "very available" and not mentioned in team PR prior to draft.

I was excited for evans but its starting to become clear that a)evans prefers to stay in sactown and b)kings will match unless we offer them a really nice s&t.

i don't believe 'a' or 'b' to be a foregone conclusion. Him saying he wants to stay in Sac is right out of the "Free-Agency-Cliches-101" hand book. He has to say that.

And for B, the Kings have to realize how this contract would paralyze their organization for years when they have his replacement on the bench.. if they do match, someone will be fired soon. (imo)

We rolled with a lot of 3 guard lineups. I wouldn't worry so much about who is on the floor at tip-off. More about who is on the floor when the clock says 0:00.

And again, about Tyreke "preferring" Sac. If Sac matches, he's going back no matter what he wants. Why would he burn a bridge that he might cross BEFORE he crosses it, if he did at all?

He actually doesn't. See Eric Gordon 2012.

And look how that is STILL with him to this day. Sure hasn't endeared himself to people like me.

I hate being facetious. I'd rather silence to lying even if it's expected. But this is the way things are. It's like the post-say-something racist-and/or-homophobic apology athletes do. Even if they don't mean a word of it, it's about your image and all that nonsense.

Am I crazy for FAR preferring Evans and a shooter to Evans and Iggy? Especially for the future.
