If it's a straight deal, I'm not sure where they get that money unless they are cutting Lopez. Which limits our assets for other moves. I trust the masterminds, I'm just a little wary of this whole thing.

wonder if dell talks tyreke into playing the SF spot or if gordon is on his way out.

You don't sign a player to an offer sheet. You give them the offer and they must decide to sign it.

If this is true, we have to cut Lopez or move salary for a future pick to offer him that big of a contract

And the bring side is that Monty and Dell made this call, and you trust their basketball acumen, right? That's all I'm saying man.
Well, they did sign Gordon to a max contract right? Not everything they do has been golden.

He rebounds better than Gordon and has the potential to be a much better defender. Most of all, he'll come a little cheaper and he's healthy.
    33% from 3
    34% from midrange

That's awful for perimeter player. Redick would be much better fit (and cheaper!) for Pelicans than Tyreke.

Thought that applied to draft day trades? They can't announce signed offer sheets, seems strange but ok I'm not knowledgable on subject, thx.

  10. #935
So the real question here is... is there a possibility of another team offering him more?

I think that was the right move. Would you have proposed we just let him walk instead? He is the MAIN piece of the Chris Paul trade. And when he's healthy, he's a top SG in the league. He's been injury prone, but he's finally healthy, and he's working out hard this off season.

    Or...you can always see this:

Pelicans view Reke as a combo guard and not the answer at SF.

He'll be a "Ginobli/Crawford" type "Super 6th man" in that he'll command more minutes that starters but is viewed more of instant offense with the ability to help our bench scoring and close out games.

This team wants to keep Gordon and add Evans... that is becoming more apparent by the second.

So we sign Evans and send out the "beloved" piece of the CP3 trade for the scraps he's worth. Just doesn't make sense. I'd rather spend money on a SF and SG depth to make us better and deeper. If it's true that Tyreke refuses to play or guard the 3 position, this means Gordon is gone because spending 11MIL a year for a bench guy is silly for a team at our stage in the rebuild.

If they plan to keep Gordon, Evans will have to play some SF to get big minutes. Holiday and Gordon already commands big minutes.

That was said by Jason Jones, who is a sketchy beat writer with no credibility and no ties to the Pelicans FO. How would he know how we plan to use Evans?

With regards to the 6th man role, why can't he be a 6th man at the SF position? It's not a spot limited to SGs, so I think our plan is to bring him off the bench and play him at the 3 (with maybe some minutes at the 2, but mostly at the 3).

    Good bye Gordon!
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Will be really hard. You can't just sign whoever you want over the cap.

Who ever said we're trading Gordon? Everything I'm reading says we're planning on pairing Evans with Gordon.

We shall see. I just don't see the fit.

Redick doesn't improve your length and athleticism like Tyreke does. And Tyreke's midrange game stinks but he scores in the lane at a super elite rate.
