I freaking LOVE Anderson. My favorite current Pelican. But you have to do this trade in my opinion. If you say no to two starters like Asik and Parsons for one super sub and a solid bench guy then you are overrating our players by a lot. A starting lineup of Vasquez/Gordon/Parsons/Davis/Asik with a bench of Roberts/Rivers/Aminu/Smith/Lopez would be solid as heck. I would miss Anderson like crazy, and I don't think Houston does it unless we sweeten it, but if they love the idea of pairing Anderson and Dwight we'd have to jump on this.

Not a fan of trading Anderson, but this wouldn't be the worst idea in the world.

Asik is just average in my book. Really average and it doesn't help that he can't make a dang free throw.

Not sure, but it would be tempting. Throw this into the trade: Robin Lopez for Thomas Robinson & Gary Forbes and I'd do it for sure. Still draft Burke, McCollum, or MCW. That would give us a nice group of young players and a few young vets.

    C: Asik, Smith
    PF: Davis, Robinson
    SF: Parsons, Forbes, Miller
    SG: Gordon, Rivers
    PG: Burke, Vasquez, Roberts

Forgot to take out Miller, whoops

I guess the big question would be, why would Houston do it?

I guess because they landed Dwight Howard? That's a scenario where a stretch 4 would be beneficial, especially since they already have played well together.

They don't need offense enough to make a trade like that. Dwight and Asik will easily be the best rebounding tandem in the league. Not only that but it should improve their defense tremendously. A combination of Harden, Parsons, and Howard will be plenty of offense.

Winter: Houston. Howard is reportedly attracted by the idea of playing next to Omer Asik and doesn't like offensive systems built around the pick-and-roll.

Asik isn't making that much this season. Unless they know that both CP3 and Howard are ready to sign with them, dumping TRob's salary will put them right around where they need to be to sign Howard.

I will never do this trade in a million years.

    Dell?

Ryno and Parsons are of pretty similar caliber right now, with Parsons probably having a little more room to grow than Ryno does. Switching Ryno for Parsons is pretty much a move to develop a more balanced team, shifting quality from the only position we're stacked at to the position where we don't have a legit NBA caliber player on the roster right now. We may even be able to find a third team to take on Asik for future 2nd, or maybe an expiring. If we COULD find someone to take on Asik for a pick, we'd be trading Ryno for Parsons (lateral move) AND ~$7m in cap space each of the next two seasons.

I don't think Houston does it, but this could be a case where, if Houston is desperate to court Howard, Anderson may be of greater value to them than any other team in the NBA.

Clearly, people don't see the value of Asik. CLEARLY. A trade of Parsons + Asik should be something that ALL of us would be delighted about

They're not gonna keep Asik next to Howard. Wouldn't be a great fit.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

That's what bugs me too, people don't talk about this. Want your starting big man in a playoff series banging FT's off the back of the rim?
    Wherehappens.

Yeah. Which is something I love about RoLo. Dude can drain free throws.

I don't think you see the value of Parsons on a 900k deal for the next 3 years.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

And no, depending on what happens, Lopez may or may not be retained.

If you followed me on twitter, the Pels can actually pull this off (if they wanted to).

    Draft Burke at 6.

Before July 1, they waive Lopez (and only get a 500K hit)

Before July 7, they make a trade with Rockets:

Anderson + Trey Burke (unsigned) for Parsons + Asik

After trade is consummated (physicals and what not). Dell calls CP3: "Who you want to play with, Gordon/Parsons/Davis/Asik or Crawford/Griffin/Jordan? Remember, we'll also have a solid bench, unlike two years ago"

roll out a lineup of CP3/Gordon/Parsons/Davis/Asik with a bench of Roberts/Rivers/Smith.
A lot of IF's in that proposal. And please stop with the cp3 coming back stuff. It ain't happening.

I think the main thing that isn't discussed with RoLo is that he has, and still is improving a lot. He was an injury prone, bad free throw shooter with Phoenix. He comes here, shoots 77% from the line, and plays all 82 games. His post moves were progressing over the season. I like what he brings to this team, a lot. He's our Thabo. And he still has some potential. Don't get me wrong, he won't turn into Vucevic, or maybe not even the dominance on the boards Asik is, but I've become flustered to how quick people are to shoot him down.

  25. #50
People shoot him down because he rebounds at an Anemic rate for a 5. I personally cannot stand a big who doesn't rebound.
