We need more than that. Lopez is not a starter in this league.

Ask not, what the Pelicans can do for Rivers, Ask, what Rivers can do for the Pelicans!!!

How Austin Rivers fits into this team will depend entirely on what Dell and Monty do in the draft and free agency.

P.S. You read that first line in the Massachusetts, accent of JFK, didn't you?

No plans should be made for Rivers. Passing on a FA or draftee because Rivers is the point of our future would be crazy. Let him work his *** off and earn his roster spot like anyone. I have a ton of faith in Rivers that at the very least he will be a nice combo guard off the bench like Delonte West (Minus the crazy).

But no judgement should be made on him. Neither should we give up on him or plan around him. Let him earn it.

if lopez is the worst starter on ur team ur not doing that bad... if we have a lineup of burke, gordon, wiggins or parker and davis, i think we could live with ryno, plus we could get a C in fa.

#6: lillard, vesely, udoh, flynn, gallinari, jianlian, roy, webster, childress, kaman
#7: barnes, byombo, monroe, curry, gordon, brewer, foye, villanueva, deng, hinrich
#8: ross, knight, aminu, hill (jordan), alexander, wright (brandan), gay, frye, araujo, tj ford
#9: drummond, walker (kemba), heyward, derozan, augustin, noah, o'bryant (patrick), diogu, iguodala, sweetney
#10: rivers, fredette, george, jennings, lopez (brook), hawes, sene, bynum, jackson (luke), hayes

I've looked only from 2003 -> on, because there were lots of other players (like stoudemire, nowitzki, iguodala and so on) but 10 years should give us a short time and plenty to see anyway

I'm saying you shouldn't because he could become our back up 1/2, if we draft Burke to start at the 1. Burke is already better at running an offense than Rivers is at this point. We shouldn't pass on Burke just because we have Rivers. The one position we pass on talent wise is PF because our two best players both play this position.

EDIT:Nevermind I saw your responses above. If he's the backup 1/2 he could easily get 30 min a game and continue to develop there.
THANK you. What's wrong with Rivers heading up one of the best benches in the league with Ryno?
    Wherehappens.

It could be argued Lopez was our worse starter this year and should be the first one replaced.

lopez was far better than any of our sf's or sg's, not including eric gordon because he never played. lopez was extremely good and efficient this year.

Debatable. Aminu wasn't a big time scorer but the other things he brought to the table I gladly keep him over Lopez. There is a reason Lopez wasn't a starter before he got here. He is ok in limited minutes probably even better playing against second stringers.

We should see how well Rivers play this summer. He'll bring the ball up court since he will be the PG.
2013-1014 is the season the Pelicans fanbase grows!!!!

Knowing these guys, they will preach continuing his development at point guard than proceed to put him out there at SG with Roberts or some Dleaguer at point.

76ers (if u dont wanna count this because of bynum ok he never is healthy and will be gone this year)
celtics (would be much better with KG at PF not C)
Spurs (same as celtics but with duncan)
    Cavs (varejao is never healthy)
atlanta (same as spurs and celtics but with horford)
    bobcats - lopez > byombo
heat - (same as celtics, bosh is a PF)

Lopez wasn't starting for the Suns in his last season with them but he HAS started a significant amount of games for them. Whether it was by committee because someone else was hurt or for other reasons I don't know but he has started for them. Didn't he also have some kind of injury when he was with the Suns? We could do better at the starting center position. Lopez wouldn't be bad at all as a backup center. He's not all that athletic as some would like him to be but that could be because of the injuries he's had.

That's true and he averaged less than 15 minutes a game. And it was really just one year.

Getting mine but this list a little weak. 2 were Heath issues, KG best position right now IS center and even if you say Duncan a PF Splitter still better than Lopez. I will give you the bobcats and Atlanta though horford been playing center almost since day 1.

Rivers = Parker, Vasquez (quicker, please go to sonic boom) =Ginobli. Davis =Duncan.

    Draft a C/PG

    Snag Julius Randle next year.

no he hasn't, when they had joe johnson their lineup was bibby, johnson, josh smith, horford, zaza
thats when they were at their best, horford is a true PF.
