do we know why gordon didn't play in the 4th? guy was money in the 3rd
Oh how i wish everyone who's so judgemental's errors at work would be publically displayed. Tyreke seemed to understand, why can't our fans?
Quote:
He’s trying to figure me out still,” Evans said of his head coach before the game. “Most of the guys that came here are pretty much new [to the team] so he’s trying to fit everybody in and put me in the best position he can.” SheridanHoops
What is he supposed to say? "My coach is a ******* idiot who doesn't know what he's doing" ?
What is he supposed to say if there is an issue (as Monty already alluded there was)? What player has called out a coach and had no repercussions as far as playing time or being traded? Unless he wants to be traded or to never get on there floor it makes no sense for him be negative.
We can throw in "what if" arguments all day. Seriously it's what this forum is all about
This Tyreke situation has soured me quiet a bit on Monty. I'm willing to sit back and see how it plays out but if this turns into some huge thing that brings chaos to the team then I'm DONE with Monty. He has one thing going for him over countless other failing coaches and that's that the team doesn't get into trouble and there's no issues. If suddenly we start having some, dude can go pound sand.
And I think all of the pro Monty brigade refuse to see any of the negatives (please don't respond with I'm not even a Monty apologist)
When Monty was asked on why Tyreke didn't play, he could have simply said "no comment" without getting himself in trouble or putting his player in an awkward situation now with the media.
I don't even love Monty as a coach. I just refuse to lamblast every single action he makes. It's outlandish. You guys don't give this dude ANY credit for anything. I refuse to see anything he does wrong? Please. If you think he does anything right on this board you're an 'apologist'. this board is turning into some extreme bias type political site where it doesn't matter what the other side does, IT'S WRONG. It's a joke just like politics. Let's talk about the weapons Monty has at his disposal to tell players they're doing something wrong.
1.) He can speak to him and see if he corrects it. Do you think he hasn't done that?
2.) He can yell at him on the court. Do you think he hasn't done that?
3.) He can not give him PT to show him, he really means it. Which he is doing.
4.) He can play the media game which Phil Jackson has done on numerous occassions (not saying he's Phil Jackson) to get a message across. \
5.) He can tell the GM this guy just isn't getting it and to try and move him.
I feel like Monty is trying to get a message across to Tyreke and is using the escalation process in the right order. If a guy refuses to do something you're asking him to do explain to me how it'd be better handled? Let him play and let him know that no matter what is said you get your money and PT? I love Tyreke and his game, but you must play within your coach's system. There is literally no other leverage a coach has over his players.
This is how I feel. Don't necessarily hate him. I wouldn't want his job, but I don't love him either. But it's become way too common here at PR.com that if you don't complain in each and every thread about Monty then you're obviously a "supporter" or a "defender" or a "Monty apologist". I've always felt that when the team officials feel Monty isn't doing a good enough job, they will get rid of him.
That is how Monty runs his offense dumbly enough is to dribble out the clock. It is why we have so many shot clock violations.

You say that is Evans could have said "no comment" and everything would have been fine, then why can't the same thing be said Monty? If it truly is an internal issue, keep it internal and say no comment, instead of adding fuel to the fire.
