I mentioned his overhelp earlier in the thread as well. As you say, he's not the only one, but he does do it a lot.
It's an issue team-wide.
Here is a second clip where Zion over helps with 2 feet in the paint. Which means he abandons Niang in the corner...again. Does not anticipate a pass
luckyman 01-21-2021, 08:05 AMChristian Clark isolated some Jazz possessions that highlight the over helping. And unfortunately, Zion is one of the worst offenders and still looks
luckyman 01-21-2021, 08:03 AMDepends. Buddy is obviously the better shooter. Kennard is younger though, and cheaper, and his contract has a team option on it which is always attractive.
Pelicanidae 01-21-2021, 02:08 AMim down for trading lonzo...ill trade him for a playable backup 4.....naw should be starting and lonzo coming off the bench to play defense and give whatever
6warddude 01-21-2021, 02:07 AMIs it an over reaction if the stated eventually becomes true?
Such as suggesting that Gundy was a bad hire in the first place? Which is being
Zo is very nice on D, and I'd really like him at low cost on a few mil a year in role player minutes
But I don't think that's feasible
You have to spend the money somewhere and we ain't signing a 20 mil guy into cap space.
Our only way to build a team is through trades and
lonzo is our best defensive guard on the team...or best back court player on the team...deflections,, contested shots,, steals and other lil things i
6warddude 01-21-2021, 12:37 AMThat's how I see it too.
The guy who plays no defense is our defensive specialist, Eric Bledsoe. He's been pitiful.
Kennard is good and fun and again, can shoot. Which is always nice. He's on a pretty big deal right now though, about $15m a year until 2024 then with
Pelicanidae 01-21-2021, 12:20 AMDisagree. He was one of the few who played solid defense most of his time on the court last night.
PELICANSFAN 01-21-2021, 12:17 AMBuddy would be a nice fit if the Pels were not concerned about his future years' salaries.
PELICANSFAN 01-21-2021, 12:16 AMWould love Kennard. Knicks would likely have to add a couple of 2nd rounders along the way though. Our PG position would be very thin, but hopefully
PELICANSFAN 01-21-2021, 12:15 AMI disagree. He had a few good defensive plays, yes, but there were also wide stretches of the game where he looked unfocused and uninterested. I know

January 19th - New Orleans Pelicans @ Utah Jazz - 5-7
Its a coaching issue only if you think that telling a guy to do X means he will do X moving forward.
MichaelMcNamara 01-21-2021, 08:35 AMYou wouldn't believe how often a player
