The refs also look like they took a page out of Joey Crawford's book in keeping this game closer than it needed to be. FIBA ball is a lot more physical than NBA but they were calling some ticky tack stuff out there.
Ok. Who's next?

Manu and Argentina. They beat Lithuania by 20 points earlier this week.
Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams
Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston
Didn't shoot it particularly well but he did other things. Love had the high rebound with 8 and CP3 being the smallest man on the court had 7. He had the assists and steals high for the team. That rebound he had late in the game was HUGE.

The 92 Croatian and Lithuanian teams were just as good as the other foreign teams in this tournament. The 92 Lithuanian team was just as good as this current squad. Those squads made up the bulk of the strong Soviet and Yugoslavian teams that dominated a strong collegiate group in the '88 Olympics which led to the Dream Team.
aminu had another bad game
0/5 from the field 3 reb 2 asst 3 TO
don't judge his game by those numbers, nobody but aminu played defense, actually no one else but his brother actually tried. Aminu as usually could never get into any kind of groove. The starting point guard and shooting guards are chuckers, the backup 1 and 2 are chuckers, those guys are acting like international superstars.
Aminu is cutting to the basket, no ball. Aminu is giving pickss, coming off free and the guards are using the picks and going to rim defended by their defender and they guy guarding aminu. He's trying to rebound even though ever body around him are just jacking up shots.
So between those guys and Ike Diogu, Aminu's stat line is going to always look sub par. Every once and a while they give him a the ball, when he drives he's looking for guys, nobody is cutting to the basket or working to get open.
That entire team except for Aminu and his brother to a degree plays one on one street ball.
He might have been better off in summer league. He's not with team usa like AD, he's with with a few guys that are all d-league 3rd team, and the rest wouldn't make it at all.
I watched it live. Interntional teams were crap 20 years ago. Croatia was the only decent team back then. There were some good bigs scattered around, but overall, teams are MUCH better now both on the courts and sidelines.
Croatia was the only team back then with multiple NBA players on it.

I acquired direct tv rips of all the 1992 Dream Team Olympic games and watched them a few years ago. Croatia was a good team and I think there was one other that wasn't terrible. Lithuania, maybe?
Barkley stole the show that year. He was amazing to watch and hear.

Brazil and Spain are on NBC right now.
They just showed Lebron in the audience and the commentator just said everywhere they've seen Lebron at the Olympics, Anthony Davis has been right with him.
Lithuania and Serbia were good as well even though Serbia weren't allowed in the 1992 Olympics. The 1992 Lithuanian team was better than the current one.
Either way, the Dream Team would blast all of the current foreign teams. They had no weaknesses. And everyone on that team was a Hall of Famer except Laettner.
Are we expecting much playing time for AD today?

Be real nice to see Davis get a couple minutes. Just a few...quarters.
Matador defense just allowing Argentina an open lane to the rim. SMH.
So Brazil beat Spain heh?
We need some type of defensive post player...I wonder who that could be..
If only we had some more length. Someone that could challenge these players at the rim better than Love. Maybe someone very young and makes people afraid to challenge him.
Why didn't we bring 12 players instead of 11?
