Pay through the nose? The current arena deal is better than the referendum that failed.

We ran a winning team out of town- What did they win?

The only Championships won in Charlotte were attendance championships and they belong to us not George and Ray.

I'm glad you guys are happy with George and Ray- You know what they say- One mans trash is another mans treasure!!!
With the third pick in the 2006 NBA Draft the Charlotte Bobcats select Rudy Gay..........

C-J, what is this? Why do you post this stuff.? You have earned the respect of a lot of local posters and then you come up with this? THe only way I can interpret it is that you are saying that Charlotte's garbage is New Orleans' treasure. Is that right? If so you are a fool. I mean, a fou!Has every CLT poster still able to access this board come on here to stir today? Is your town that small that you guys tell each other to hit our board today? Damn...

I agree CJ. It has been long enough since the relocation. You are getting another team. Why should you even care about us and the Hornets now. It is this damn hollier than thou, my garbage is your treasure attitude that causes my bias for your town. Go and enjoy your team. I really could care less about them, as you should for the Hornets.

If the current deal is so great, then why wasn't it good enough for the NBA to keep the Hornets in Charlotte or award Charlotte a new franchise on the spot?

Sour grapes on your part C-J. Neither you nor most of Charlotte can see the Hornets for the good they brought to the community. Everything you are saying is clouded by your hatred of the owners and that results in your inability to appreciate what you lost.

That came out worse than I intended it to. What I was saying is we rid ourselves of something we didn't want and you guys were happy to get a team.

In Charlotte it was just a bad marriage!. Divorces happen and both people remarry and both are happier with their new spouse than their old one.

Did that come out any better? I really wasn't trying to be an ****** with the trash comment- It just came out the wrong way!

Yeah but the sad and inappropriate thing about that is that such hatred of the owners has often times, intentionally or unintentionally, been transferred onto us. It has been the same refrain since January. This thing comes in waves. It has been a crazy day for this kind of stuff, all day long. I haven't visited my ignore list like this since, well, I can't remember when. It's so old, it makes you want to puke, but there's nothing but dry heaving left.

Instead of getting into a diatribe about the matter, a simply "sorry" would suffice. Ever heard of that word? I guess if this is your apology, we have to accept it, don't we. Charlotte poster says what he feels, then some CLT posters come back and say that they didn't mean it. Put it out there and try to take it back. I am done and I am out.

Consider your apology accepted C-J. I think, however, that this nonsense must come to an end very soon for me. Goodbye...

If you hate Shinn and Wooly, consider this...

Hatred only hurts the hater. Shinn and Wooly sleep very well at night. I would go out on a limb and say they rarely (never) think of you. On the other hand, you can't seem to let go. Who is the hatred hurting and who will it continue to hurt? Are you trying to transfer it to us. Misplaced hatred? Does that make you feel better?

I agree. It seems most of the posts from CJ lately have been trash. He was somewhat level headed (for a Charlottean ) during the relocation efforts, but now seems to be bitter. Maybe he really could not believe the team left. And, yes, the Hornets are a winning team.

What did they win? Like I said the only banners hanging from the rafters belong to me and the rest of the 24,000 that packed the house to see those "winning" teams. Those banners belong to the fans that gave the standing ovation after the 40 point loss on opening night. If your happy with a team that constantly wins 50% of their games but never goes that extra mile to sign(or resign in the Hornets case) that one player that would make the difference from being a pretender to a contender than you be forever happy with the performance of your team.

I'm the type of fan that will give a team my heart and I would proudly cheer for an owner that for 15 years put a team on the floor that only could win 25% of the games as long as I know that the team was trying its hardest to improve. I didn't get that feeling from the Hornets- I felt like the owners driving force was to spend enough money to put a mediocre team on the floor at as cheap a price as possible and to pocket the rest of the money.

I've been through everything with this team- I've seen everything happen first hand. I watched Rex Chapman become the first Draft pick. I was 12 years old and laid in my grandmothers living room and watched the Cavs destroy "MY" Hornets in the first game. I watched Kurt Rambis tip in the buzzer beater that beat Michael Jordan and the Bulls. I watched Larry Johnson go one on one with Larry Legend in his first game. I watched the Draft lotterywith my fingers crossed when we got the 2nd pick and got to draft Zo! I watched Zo beat the Celtics with that last second jumper to win our first playoff series. Since then I've watched the demise of "MY" team. I've seen George Shinn demand a new building and threaten to leave if he didn't get it(that was in the middle of the 300 games sell-out streak, I've watched botched dealings with players, and I've watched sabotaged negotiations with the City and the team. I watched Bobby Phills die in a car wreck and I watched as his # was retired. I've earned the right to **********, moan, gripe and be bitter!

You guys call yourselves Hornets fans when you really don't have any connection to them except that they are gonna play there next season. I'm a Hornets fan because I've lived it. They were a part of my life for 14 years, over half of my life I've only loved one team. So yeah I might be a little bitter about the whole situation.

In the long run, I'm sure that I'll be happier with the team that we are probally gonna get but, the hurt of losing the Hornets is still fresh, so you guys be patient with us Charlotte folk-We are still grieving.

They say the harder you love, the harder you hurt. It's true so pardon me if vision of the team isn't the same as yours- My Rose colored glasses were crushed on by a monster named "Shinnridge".

:tears: You are DAMNED right we are New Orleans Hornets fans, just like you were on day 1 during that 40 point loss. You guys seem to think you are the only ones that exist. Sure you can be bitter, but take it elsewhere. We heard enough of that crap during the relocation efforts when you guys trashed us and told us there was no way an NBA team would relocate to New Orleans!

  20. #95
C-J, you know even though the whole Shinn and Wooly thing never worked out there in Charlotte, the Hornets were still your team. If our owner tried to poison the Saints market here, (which he has done on numerous occasions) we have and would still stick by our team. I guess that is the fundamental difference we have with ya'll. And even know we have no history with the Hornets yet other than the whole relocation and move, we will stick by this team no matter what happens. THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE HERE IN NEW ORLEANS FROM CHARLOTTE AND IT LOOKS LIKE THAT WILL NOT CHANGE EVEN WITH BELKIN (NEW OWNER). CHARLOTTE HAS NOT LEARNED ANYTHING FROM THIS WHOLE HORNETS DEBACLE.

History can and does repeat itself.

I can empathize with your post CJ. I am sure you speak nothing but truth and from the heart. Now here is some truth from my heart. We don't care. The kind folk of CLT have beat us to death with so much whining and BS that we just don't care. Any sympathy I had for CLT died a long time ago by CLT's own hand. Why should I have to be patient with you? Why are you here? If you don't want to follow the Hornets, don't visit this site. If you just want to share your story, we have heard it too many times ALREADY. If you have earned the right to b!tch and moan, take it to someone who cares. You are getting another team. Maybe. I would have to agree with you 100% on this one. I am not a Charlotte Hornets fan at all. I could care less what they did there. Win, lose, draw or trade every player that was ever worth a damn. I DON'T CARE. I am a fan of the New Orleans Hornets. In due time, I will have a bunch of personal experiences with my team too. Do us both a favor and save your stories for your bretheren in CLT. I am sure they care.

Not only that Hornetsfan, but these guys continue to miss the point. It's the way one presents one's disaffection that matters. Hate the owners all you want, just don't let it spill over to anything that can be perceived as hatred or ridicule of us. Until those posters in CLT learn that lesson, then I have nothing to say to them on this board. C-J, glad you could admit your true feelings of animosity. Perhaps you can see your way to look one step further and see where you and SOME other posters from CLT might have gotten a little rough around the edges with us.

Shinnridge isn't our problem. He was your problem. Why make your problem our problem? (Directed towards certain CLT posters in general.) Newsflash, soon not to be my problem ever again.

Well guys- I'm sorry that my feelings have tainted the board! I guess I'll make this my last post since I'm not really able to contribute anything worthy to the board because of my feelings. I really hope that you guys enjoy your team and I hope that George and Ray have learned from there mistakes and don't repeat them. I've really enjoyed arguing/debating with you guys over the last few months. Take care everyone and enjoy your team!

Ok, if you feel that way. Do what you gotta do. All I have been saying is respect our view and don't say things that might be perceived as dumping on NOLA. You don't have to run away from the board because of it. You have contributed here. The question could be whether you are up for the challenge by just being sensative to the pro-NOLA angle of this board. If you aren't, then run away. By the way, we don't dump on you guys here. We get defensive at times. yes, I know that there are some coullions over on your board from NOLA dumping on CLT. Absolutely ridiculous and sorrowful. We all need to be bigger and better than that. The choice is yours.
