    Our roster next year:

    PG: Chris Paul
    SG: J.R. Smith
    SF: Michael Pietrus
    PF: Stromile Swift
    C: Jamaal Magloire

    How good is this roster?
Trade Mags & Rodgers for Lamar Odom

  5. #105
I wonder if they're going back to that Toronto deal or some form of it.

Good enough to secure another lottery pick.

    Not very good at all.

You have just one player, Smith, that can make outside shots consistently, a rookie PG with zero size, an athletic but raw SF and a slow-footed C.

    That team wins 30-35 games.

Take JMags out and it starts to look somewhat decent.

I agree. That's not a good starting five at all.

If we want all this cap space, can we go after Eddy Curry?

    How about this:

In the offseason, we trade Mags to LAL for Odom.

    Roster:

    PG: Chris Paul
    SG: JR
    SF: Pietrus
    PF: Odom
    C: Curry

If the Philly and GS deals are legit, the Hornets will have TONS of cap room. I mean, not just alittle, but a HUGE amount. They will be able to wheel-and-deal to imrpove the roster in a hurry.

Stephen A. Smith just said on NBA Shootaround that he doesn't think that BD will be traded. He said the Hornets called Golden State and the Celtics and others, but too much money and bad health are killing deals.

Why on Earth would the Lakers trade Odom for Magloire? Mihm puts up basically the same numbers as Magloire. Who would we give up for Curry? The Bulls alrady have Heinrich.

    Keep trying

New Orleans trades: PG Baron Davis (19.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 7.3 apg in 33.8 minutes)
New Orleans receives: PG Gary Payton (12.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 6.1 apg in 33.0 minutes)
Michael Stewart (No games yet played in 2004/05)
PF Tom Gugliotta (1.4 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.6 apg in 10.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -6.1 ppg, +1.1 rpg, and -0.6 apg.

Boston trades: PG Gary Payton (12.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 6.1 apg in 33.0 minutes)
Michael Stewart (No games yet played in 2004/05)
PF Tom Gugliotta (1.4 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.6 apg in 10.7 minutes)
Boston receives: PG Baron Davis (19.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 7.3 apg in 33.8 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +6.1 ppg, -1.1 rpg, and +0.6 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to New Orleans and Boston being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. New Orleans and Boston had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The Glove has seen his better days. The Seattle guys tend to think that he may end up in MIN before it's all over tomorrow.

Again, Toronto was NEVER a legitimate option. They were using the Hornets name to elevate Marshall's value. Some of the media guys who have no clue have been holding on to the Toronto rumor.

Wouldn't be shocked at all if that's the one. Clears space for us and gives Boston another scoring threat to go with Pierce and Ricky Davis.
