Thread: 1st round pick

    1st round pick

I dont see why OKC would want to use both of their first rounders this year. Given their depth and roster it would be beneficial for them to keep the draft capital.

Seemingly we could trade them a future first, say top three protected, and a pick swap down the line; hence, increasing their capital and probably moving up in the draft twice

if we were to get pick 12 from them, it's probable, objectively speaking, they could wind up with two picks in future drafts higher than that one

although I think we would do better than that, the consensus wouldn't agree. it would be like betting on ourselves again

If we've learned anything, it's that we are in no position to be trading away future picks. We probably haven't learned anything though.

if we are truly looking for a top ten pick

i could see us trading with the bucks for pick Myles Turner and the tenth pick. But Murphy warrants more than that IMO. id want another 1st rounder at least

with the 10th pick I could see us taking Yaxel Lendenborg or Brayden Burries cause they are one of the few that could contribute immediately in that range

if we were to trade for a non-center I could see us taking aday mara w the pick

    Personally, I'd take

    Trey Murphy for:

    Isiah Joe
    Lou Dort
    picks 12 and 17

    Yaxel and Cameron Carr

We would undoubtedly be better in the long run by adding 3 shooters and a great defender

if we covert a top ten pick, it's gotta be a pick that could help immediately

scratch the top four off the bat.

players that could help day 1

Yaxel Lendenborg- he's almost 24 years old and can play the game to the tune of an being an immediate contributor spacing the floor and playing positionless basketball

Braden Burries- he's young but his body is ready to compete physicalyl speaking (strong frame) and he literally does nothing bad. jrue Holliday and tyrese massey mix kinda

Aday Mara- probably the most likely. he's actually great in almost every facet of the game, But a lot of guys w his height and footspeed are targerted on defense and don't play at the end of games. Hard ti tekk when theyre gonna ha

I think OKC should give us 12 and 17 for Herb. I'm hoping for a bidding war. Then trade 17 to the bucks for 10 but remove the protections. I know with the new lottery odds its better but its the cost to move up and we could also just get nothing.

I'd hope Mikel Brown falls to 10 and Ament being there at 12. Gives us a backup PG but also could use Brown as a Rip Hamilton style player at the SG. Ament is insurance for Trey which I'm sure at some point he'll be moved regardless how much we want to keep him.

I dont think we would take Ament under any circumstance. Just cause he has to develop his game before contributing to winning. I swear Burries isn't an athletic freak nor exceptionally long or anything; but he already knows how to play the game efficiently and can kinda do it all. On tankathon they list player's strengths and weaknesses based on their statistics on he seems to have the shortest list of weaknesses around. Unlike a lot of guys his physique is already filled out enough to take the banging. He can compete physically and enhances our 3pt shooting immensely. The Michigan frontline could also be in play here.... all of them; but mainly Mara and Yaxel cause Yaxel can shoot the 3 ball and Mara is a starting caliber center
