Simmons has been trying to trade Murphy for at least a year. Like any big market apologist, he takes no time to consider why the Pels would trade Murphy. If there's anything we know about people running the Pels (and Saints) it's that they have zero interest in rebuilding. So any trade of Murphy would have to be one that would give us better players, not draft picks. Which makes it really hard to make a trade (presumably teams that want Murphy would be contending type teams that would want to trade depth/picks to get better).
