how im feeling about the Pels

we currently have the second worst record in the NBA. but...we will pass several teams in the second half of the season because
1 we are getting better as guys and line-ups get more playing time
2 assuming herb jones plays more (our defense, when he is on the court, raises in rank astronomically)
3 most importantly we don't own our pick; hence, we will feast on teams who are in full tank mode near the end of the year

I like the fact that we aren't considering trading players right now. The contracts Herb and Murphy are on makes them the type of players we would wind up searching for, in vain, if we did trade them. , We don't win much when Herb doesn't play; and dont look now but Trey Murphy is becoming a super-star before our eyes. and Zion.... is better than the bag of potato chips other teams would be offering for him right now.

    as for the rookies....
Queen just may be the key to our half-court offense in the future. He can be really good with continued development.

Fears confuses me. I didnt know if there was a such thing as a rookie wall, but I know now because i've seen Fears run into it lately.
He seemed so much better weeks ago. This month so far he's getting 3.4 assists to 3.3 turnovers per game; in December it was 2.4 to 2.4. These don't bode well for a PG. In December he shot 26% fron three and in January he has shot 29%.

Don't get me wrong, he is special. He is an elite dribbler and actually has a super-power. He can get by anybody in the league; noone can stay in front of him. But what does it translate to.... he can't finish. He gets extremely difficult lay-up attempts or he gets rejected, and he's not adept to finding someone for the assists in these situations nor can he flush it apparently.

He has the worst +/- on the team, and if you think about it as of late there is nothing he is currently bringing to the starting line-up. Nothing. Except his development, and thats why we are playing him.

If we are in development mode why not ask Zion to shoot a couple of jump-shots per game. It's the next logical step to his improvement. People notice we dont end games well, when zion gets it he still goes for the lay-up despite the entire opposing team waiting for him inside the paint. He should be working his ****** of to develop a seven-footer that's as money as a lay-up.

Missi is improving a lot recently. I have faith he will continue. Karlo warrants more playing time, he's good.

What continues to haunt the Pels the most is guard play. Luka, SGA, Cunningham ect. all have tall ballers as their lead guard. by lead guard I mean a player on the team that is adept at dribbling, shooting and passing. Teams with great lead-guards win. Teams with great forwards may or may not win (laurie, murphy, giannis ectz)

Ironically we played the Nets last game and the player I most coveted with our number 7 pick last year.... Egor Denim. We should have taken him, if you havnt realized it yet you will. The way he stepped up his play in last years tourney and the way his shot was looking then and at the combine pretty much warranted it.

random question: who backs out of this trade scenario?
harrison barnes and dylan harper for trey murphy, fears and a future first. My first thought is I wouldn't do it, but Harper is in essence a first-pick in many drafts and will probably be one of the better guards in the league. These players win.
But Murphy is becoming an all-star NOW and Fears has potential. do you do it cause of the positional value of a great PG?

We actually have some very good players to build around.
I wouldn't trade Trey because he is our best all around player.

What we don't have on this team is a shooting G or any other player that can hit 3s consistently so that it opens up the floor for Zion, Bey, & our other bigs.

I would be looking to trade Missi, Hawkins, Looney, Jones, Murray, Poole, or Alvarado in any combination for a shooting G that can make 3s. I would also get an off ball shooter that can hit 3s.

Alvarado has to be traded or we will lose him to free agency next year and get nothing in return for him.

After watching last night's game against the Spurs...
It will be a mistake by the FO if they trade Missi!

    D. Jordan seems to be helping him understand what he needs to do in order to be a good C in the NBA.
