Bad coaching decisions is starting to show it's ugly head.
With Poole for every good pay he gives you he gives you 5 bad ones in return.
Jose suspended 2 games.
The NBA is suspending New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado for two games and Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams for one game after their fight Saturday night, sources tell ESPN.

What are we paying Jordan Poole again? So far more waste of money. However Bey may have been a good pick up.
Will we win again? At least we got that lottery pick. Oh no Joe didn’t![]()
This thread just keeps on giving.
"So maybe Willie Green is not the problem?"
"Is Jordan Poole not good?"
"Maybe the problems with Zion go beyond just his health?"
"Is Joe Dumars a terrible GM?"
I feel like I've had to argue these points insistently before the season even began but now that the season is almost half way over people finally see.
If you want to jump ahead go ahead and accept the other conclusions I'll help you out.
A- Like it or not, there is no short term fix here. The team is so deeply screwed that it is going to take many years to climb out of this hole. This has to be accepted in order to make the other moves.
B- Gale is not paying for a top-tier coach, GM, or players. She wants to invest enough that season ticket holders pay to put their butts in the seats, that's it. The only way the team succeeds with her as an owner is in spite of, not because of her. Selling the team is priority number 1.
C- Because we're in it for the long-haul you have to choose either
1- surround your developing players with other unproven players to give them as much responsibility and room for growth as possible or
2- surround them with players who "play the right way" to establish good habits. Ultimately the answer is probably a combination of both but doing the latter on a shoestring budget from a team that hasn't proved anything in the last decade is a tough road.
I look at players like Jordan Poole and see how there is the positive that at least someone like Fears isn't having to feel like he has to take every shot because there is a player on the floor who will but the risk is that Fears looks at Poole and decides that is how he should play. Ultimately it's a delicate balance and bringing in those "play the right way" players can help with establishing a winning culture but you don't want star players who take away from the developing ones. Again, seems tricky but that should go into the calculus for who to bring in. Every decision moving forward should be around building a new team around what seems to be two promising young players.
D- Zion is a distraction and should be gone ASAP. Get him the CP3 treatment if you need to. He will only hinder our development moving forward and we should move him at anything that isn't a negative.
After that, we can accept that outside something extraordinary we're looking at a 4 year time frame to maybe being good enough to win a playoff series. That will be 2030 and in that time the Pelicans will have won 2 playoff series in 28 seasons in a league where over half the teams make the playoffs.
Hard to find a worse set of transactions in ONE off-season than the Pacers trade, Wizards trade, Hawks trade. That's before we get to the minor but still harmful misses in Looney and Hawkins option. Truly an all-time bad executive stretch in just a few short months.
