Thread: Offseason

Yves Missi is on the summer league roster but not Jordan Hawkins.

Also interestingly enough, Antonio Reaves is on the roster if though he was just waived.

Are they redoing Reeve's contract or something? It seems kind of weird he was let go of all people. Looked kinda decent for a rookie. Might just be giving him a familiar surrounding so he can audition for a new team. Weird

Apparently might do a more team friendly deal with him. Who knows.

One last hoorah for CP3 and NOLA?

  5. #30
I think CP3 is deciding between Milwaukee, Phoenix, and the Clippers. Clippers & Suns are close to his home in Los Angeles while Milwaukee gives him a starting role in a weak conference. Milwaukee's head coach is Doc Rivers who he also played for with the Clippers for a number of years.

If the Suns buyout Beal and he signs with Milwaukee, and CP3 also goes there, it could be one of the top 3 teams in the East this year.

His original contract was set to partially guarantee in a couple weeks, maybe they'll bring him back on a non-guaranteed deal.

Nikola Jokic told Nuggets he's waiting after this season on any contract extension.

Makes sense, he's eligible for and additionnal 80M next summer.

The Kevin Looney contract is lowkey great, 16M for 2 years with team option on year 2. Solid work from the FO.

Yep! I was super happy to hear next year is a team option.

My 'glass half full' time is long gone. This team has to make some noise this year. No excuses.

    Missi / Looney
    Zion / Queens
    Murphy III / Jones
    Poole / Hawkins
    Fears / Alvarado

Seems to have some depth to it but still isn't flying off the screen as a shoe in for the post season.

The Pelicans have wasted so many assets the past 3 years, it is a clown show that this is what we are left with.

Poole needs to be an All Star this year for this team to succeed.
Agree. We could have had this year to see how Poole and Bey gel with the team and give Fears some quality playing time without pressure to win. We would have had 2 potentially high draft picks in a super strong draft next year to build out the roster. Instead, Dumars and Weaver did what they usually do, fall in love with a decent player and ******** away draft assets to get him. Now the pressure is on to win now with a somewhat clunky roster

Joe Dumars and Troy Weaver are great at ensuring that the teams that they are managing stay at the bottom of the league and out of the way of the big market brands, which is why Joe was successful when David Stern was NBA commissioner. Joe reminds me of a New Orleans politician profiting off the past while having no idea on how to innovate and progress into the future.
